Hi,

There seems to be some kind of conflict with a SP3 update. Currently, the only known solution is to either use the mouse without SetPoint or to uninstall SP3.

Thank you for your support and have a nice day:)

Installed XP on a new pc with SP3,

Installed the latest SetPoint, and it just doesnt pickup the G9,
I checked the driver thats installed and its HID-compliant Mouse,
if I try and update driver, it just doesnt give me any other options,

if I boot into Safe Mode and try then I see the Logitech G9 HID-compliant
option, if I try and install that way, the mouse just doesnt work,

I installed the same G9 to my old pc and it works fine with SP2, is there
a way around this?

Holy crap. This was noticed THIRTY DAYS AGO and there is still no fix for it? This is a pretty freaking huge problem! THE gaming OS does not work with the software for THE gaming mouse and it goes 30 days unfixed?

I just re-installed Windows XP and automatic update put sp3 on. Too bad, so sad for me. Now my G9 is only barely workable. :(

Message Edited by sirbrizz on 06-28-2008 10:18 PM

This is a SERIOUS ISSUE. Why is it getting almost zero visibility on here? It has now been a month and a half since this issue was raised and there is still no fix! :( It really ruins the usability of Logitech's current flagship gaming mouse when it doesn't work with the latest update for gamers' preferred OS, doesn't it?

Last I heard, they were trying to find out what's causing the issue. No word on when a solution will be available though.

Alright, this is getting a little ridiculous. It has now been almost 4 months since this issue was found and there is STILL no update? Has Logitech officially ended Windows XP support for this mouse and SetPoint 5 then?

For the love of all that is holy, can we please get a fix for this problem? SP3 is not compatible with the G9, not to mention other Logitech products. My G7 is wonky at best, and the cursor on the G9 doesn't move at all (but the buttons work just fine).

6 MONTHS!!!!!! No word of a fix, no real acknowledgement of the problem, no interaction, nothing.

So, based on this, I guess Logitech has moved on to greener pastures: aka not supporting Windows XP SP3 and ignoring that there is a SetPoint 5 breaking bug in their software with that service pack. Refusal to acknowledge the problem and general disinterest in the fact that certainly hundreds of their customers are dealing with this issue. Does this bother anyone else?

For my part, this may well be the last Logitech gaming mouse I ever buy. While I like the mouse, abysmal software support is Creative's pocket, not Logitech. I can't believe I'm seeing Logitech join Creative...
