QuickCam express v-ub2

Where can I get the drivers for the above web-cam, for Windows 98?

Also, my windows XP computer works the camera just by plugging it in the USB port. But if I take some pictures with it, there is no way to delete them from the camera.

Since Logitech no longer posts the "v-u" numbers for their cameras, please tell me the 8xxxxx-series number from the camera tag, or the USB\VID ID.

Hate to say this KachiWachi but when I click on your link "older version" I get completely lost. I don't see any camera drivers that I can download. Or the programs that you mentioned.

I'll probably have to spend a lot of time, tomorrow trying to figure this out. Thanks for now. Have to go to work now.

Because there is a choice of software available to you, I posted the generic link to the FTP server so you could "pick your own poison". :smileytongue:

Additional information - ImageStudio (QuickCam) 7.3.0 has more features, but QuickCam 8.4.8 is newer. And yes...you can run both versions if you like (ImageStudio MUST be installed first however).

Yeah, easy for you. So when I go to the Logitech FTP website there are 4 items I can download:

directory .Developer

7 bin

Directory pub and

Directory user.

So are those 4 items the camera drivers? And then I still have to find and download ImageStudio?

If that is not so, then you can easily see how lost I am.

It depends on which version of the software you wish to use (more features or latest version), and your location (localized language).

I cannot make this determination for you...which is why I provided you with the generic link to the FTP website.

BTW...as to your initial question about the "stored" camera images...

You probably used WIA...since you do not have a version of QuickCam currently installed. Those images can be removed from the system (they aren't in the camera) by clearing the WIA cache (search the Internet for more information if you do not know how to do this).

KachiWachi, I'm still kind of lost with all this camera stuff. But today I downloaded: Qcsdk.exe 9.59 MB, from the older version link you provided.

Now if I install this on my Windows 98 computer, if it is for Win. 98, would this be the basic camera software? And let me delete the pictures this camera took?

You do not want or need the QuickCam SDK (Qcsdk.exe).

I can point you to the direct links if you tell me your localized language (what country you live in, or the language spoken there).

OK, Country is USA. Language, English. Maybe now we'll be getting somewhere. I just want the very basics to operate the webcam in Windows 98. Don't have a very large hard drive.

Many THANKS for sticking with me KachiWachi. I finally got the camera going. And I was able to prove to myself, that the 71 pictures I previously took were not in the camera itself.

Then when I hooked it up to my Windows XP computer, the pictures, as you said, were still in the XP cashe. Then as I transferred them to a folder, I noticed the Check-mark box and next to it: Delete pictures after transferring. All thanks to the information I got from you.

What got me so confused was that the IBM camera did not use WIA, so the deleting after transfer was a little simpler.
