DOA Logitech Z-2300's

ordered brand new, factory sealed Logitech Z-2300's. they arrived today. hooked everything up and ran into this problem: Wired remote turns on (LED blue) as long as sub is off. Speakers work in this state. As soon as subwoofer is turned on, the remote LED dims until completely off. Speakers do not work in this state. I've tried powering on the sub with its volume at various levels, from 0 to 30%. I've tried powering on the remote with the speakers at various levels, from 0 to 50%. I've tried powering on the remote with the sub both off and on. All have the same result. As long as the sub is on, the wired remote powers off (if already on), or won't power up at all (if I try to power it on with the sub in the on position.) Does anyone know what the problem is? And the steps I can go to resolve it / get a replacement pair. My last pair of Logitech speakers lasted me 4 years; this attempt to upgrade is, so far, quite a disappointment.

Re: DOA Logitech Z-2300's

Maybe the main switch on the sub is installed backwards or wired backwards.

Do the speakers work when the main switch is in the normally off position on the sub?

Yes, the speakers work when the sub is off. As far as I can tell that's what your asking. Even if the sub switch was wired backwards, that shouldn't affect the remote or the speakers. When I turn on the sub, the remote LED turns off, and so do the speakers.

Re: DOA Logitech Z-2300's

i have realized i might just be an idiot. i assumed that the semi-circle with a vertical line through the top meant "on," and the vertical line meant "off." did i have them backwards? the speakers are working fine now; i am treating them as if the assumptions above are backward. either i had the symbols mixed up, or the sub is, in fact, wired backwards, as you suggested. thanks so much

On my set. The semi-circle with a vertical mark is Off. The vertical mark alone is On.

So you may have read them backwards.

Re: DOA Logitech Z-2300's

I just received my z2300 and it was also DOA. Hope this is not a serious trend. I reordered a new one and we'll see if it works.
