Hello, I've having some issues getting my computer to recognize the sound on my Logitech X-120 speakers. I've just reformatted and upgraded from Windows XP SP2 to Windows XP SP3 - not sure if that's the problem, but I think if I can locate the appropriate drivers for Logitech X-120 speakers that would help a lot.
At the moment, my Diagnostic Tools report under the sound tab reads:
No sound card was found. If one is expected, you should install a sound driver provided by the hardware manufacturer.

So I came here! Thank you for any help.

The X-120 speakers are an analog input type. There are no drivers for the X-120.
You have to find the XP drivers for your sound card or built on the motherboard sound chip set.
The XP error message you posted indicates none was found.
Where is the Green Audio Output jack? On the motherboard or added card?
In Device Manager Hardware Area. Is there a yellow ! or RED X on the sound device and see if it may identify the board or chip used.

As for the green output jack, it just pokes into the back of the tower (so I'm not sure if that means it's a sound card or if it's going directly into the motherboard). I believe...I'm supposed to find appropriate chipset drivers and audio drivers for this motherboard next. I've been struggling with that, actually. I hope this information helps. *Crosses fingers*

I will try and find some data on it.
Do you have the Emachines Model Number?
From your description. It sounds like your sound device is on the motherboard. If it was on a separate sound card. The jacks would be on a plate where the slot covers are.

Hi,
All the drivers should be available on emachines site. Look under your computer model number.

Yep! Was just about to post:
Seems to work now. As for the sound card vs. built-in mix up, it looks like this from the exterior, so I think it's a sound card (sorry I made that difficult).

I think my mistake was looking for the chipset and drivers on Trigem's (my mobo's manufacturer) website and various google searchs. I actually randomly ran into emachines support site trying to find the model number, so thanks for asking about it! Thanks a lot for your fast responses and help -it was honestly very reassuring and helpful.
