Logitech Z-2300 - Left Speaker Issue

Hello

I've had these speakers since the 6th of May, they've been fine up until recently, where the left speaker produces little or no sound.

I unplugged the left speaker from the left input jack thingy, and plugged it into the right one, and it works fine, obviously meaning the left audio input is broke or something? :smileysad:

any suggestions?

Thanks!

Shane

Re: Logitech Z-2300 - Left Speaker Issue

Hello Shayne =)

Try the below before calling a Logitech Technician. The Tap and Turn "Magic" was instructed to me by the support technicians at Logitech. It's for repairing the output left & right jacks.

1. turn off the main switch on the back of the amplifier
2. Remove the D-Sub connector (remote pod)
3. Turn the volume knob once from - to + all the way and then back
4. Tap the knob twice
5. Then repeat #3 and 4 one more time.
6. Re-connect the D-Sub and on the main switch
7. ... now it works again!
As for me, the reason the right output stopped working is because I plugged in a 16 ohm speaker.

Thanks for the reply but sadly it didn't work.

If I unplug the working(right) speaker and turn it up quite loud I can hear the left speaker, but not too well.

aww sorry to hear it didn't work. The two options you have are:

1. Exchange the Z-2300 to your Retailer - point of purchase

2. If #1 doesnt accept, call Logitech for an RMA

WOW!! I never expected that to work!  So the problem was in the control? not the sub/amp? Capacitor issue?

Re: Logitech Z-2300 - Left Speaker Issue

Most likely not a capacitor issue.

More like a dirty volume control. The turning and tapping on the knob many times will clear out the dirty spots on the volume control potentiometer.

Darn... apparently it's only a temporary quick-fix.  But it's worked both times now where nothing else has.
