X-240 noise when moved/touched

Hi there,

I have bought X-240 over year ago, I didn't have any problems until now. Few days ago speakers started to buzz. When they buzz I can't hear sound from computer. Level of the subwoofer noise depends on subwoofer volume, and noise in satellites is always same loud. I found out that they stop buzzing when I move remote. I tried to put them into another computer - the same problem. I've noticed that I don't even have to put them into computer, problem exists when they are just switched on, but then noise is less loud. When I touch green ending of the cable sound becomes louder.

Well, each time I move remote = speakers and subwoofer starting to buzz. They work fine when they are in... let's say 'good position' but just little movement, or sometimes even no reason.. and they are starting to buzz. If there is no solution to remove noise then I'm gonna use my warranty but before this, I'd ask if somebody knows what's wrong?

It sounds like you may  have a bad ground or poor shield in one of the cables or solder connection in the remote.

If the remote is in one place and you GENTLY flex the cables can you change the hum you are hearing?

Ye, it might be some cable. When i gently flex the cables usually nothing happens but sometimes hum starts (especially when i flex the cables near remote). And when there is a hum and i gently flex cable sometimes it stops but usually not.

Hum is always the same, just level of hum in subwoofer changes (when changing volume on subwoofer) so i can turn off subwoofer hum but no the sattelites hum.

You may want to contact Logitech Customer Support.

The remote or the cables to it maybe broken.

The subwoffers volume control maybe a mixture of the right and left signals and will adjust the hum up and down. While the main left and right hum is at the same level.

Re: X-240 noise when moved/touched

I've already wrote e-mail to customer support, I'm gonna send my speakers and get them back repaired, I will rather not touch them when I still have warranty.

Thanks a lot for help :smileywink:
