Has anybody else noticed that the 8.0x playback speed is really 1.0x playback speed??

Even though the clock speeds by, the sound get all buzzy, and the picture gets all jerky...it still takes 6 seconds to view a 6 second clip.....

When I adjust playback speed I notice that slowing down the playback seems to adjust speed (lower)  but setting playback speed above 1 doesn't seem to do anything.  I can only assume this is a bug.
