Alert Commander not installing in Window 7

Hi, The Alert commander is hanging up and not installing in Windows 7, 64bit, Intel i7, 4G RAM.

Any ideas why?

Are you installing from the CD or from the logitech.com website?

Also, is your computer a Laptop, Netbook or Desktop?

Re: Alert Commander not installing in Window 7

I have finally been able to install alert commander.

I had to right click on the installation file name, then click on "Troubleshoot compatability"

I could then install the software using an XP service pack, I think it was service pack 2.

The software then installed correctly.

I hope this helps other Windows 7 users.

Regards,

Re: Alert Commander not installing in Window 7

Just bought my master system yesterday and was about to return

I tried the disc that came with it,downloaded the new version and burned to disc, downloaded again and just tried to install without burning to disc first, tried all possible installs useing all different compatabilty modes, talked to tech support 3 times.

They concluded that I needed to upgrade my video driver or need a new video card, ( during trying to install it only went so far and would lock up with a disfigured looking install, icons and text in wrong places)

My pc is only 8 months old with windows 7 and an IE 3processor.and besides, the unit package is dated 2010-older than my PC

I did download the latest drivers for it but still no luck.

I tried on my daughters pc that has vistacrap and is 2 years old and installed perfect.

Long story short, the install files have a bug.

I finally at my last attempt before returning product to get a refund and run away ,set my PC to show hidden files-Opened the disc and or software downloaded, didnt matter and explored for all files and just did a manual exec. install, not automated install and didnt run the other 2 programs such as netframework , already have the latest version anyway.

All works so far.Cant belive tech support wouldnt know about this issue since I have seen a few people with the exact same problem with win7
