Alert Web Commander - Adobe Flash Version

[ Edited ]

If you have a Flash version prior to 10.2 you may encounter a problem when accessing Alert Web Commander.  The center spinner will continue spinning  without streaming your video.  To fix this problem, you will need to update you Flash player to version 10.2 or higher.  Go to Adobe website to update your Flash player http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/.

Note: Flash plugins are independant per browser. If you access Alert Web Commander with multile browser types (e.g. IE, Chrome) you will have to apply a specific update to each.

To check the current Flash player version you have please visit the following link. http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html

so what you are telling us is that if we have older macs, you aren't supporting them for web viewing?

this is insane!

the least you could have done is warned us that flash vxx is no longer supported in this version.

I wouldn't have updated the commander and camera firmware if I had known.

Re: Alert Web Commander - Adobe Flash Version

Hello reduck,

I believe what fernas would like to convey to all is to update their flash Players if you are having trouble viewing your camera(s) remotely.

What is the version of the Mac you are using? Also, have you attempted to update the flash player on your system. If so, what kind of error message are you getting?

I might not succeed but, I would definitely do my best to see if there are any version of the flash updates that will work with your mac and our newly updated Alert Commander depending on the version you are currently running.

Re: Alert Web Commander - Adobe Flash Version

there are NO flash updates for my Power PC based mac. Flash Player 10.1.102.64 is the latest.

I am getting a generic Flash error when I launch the Alert page.

Re: Alert Web Commander - Adobe Flash Version

Hello reduck,

I am sorry to hear that you are getting an error message. What is the browser that you are using? Have you attempted going to the alert.logitech.com site using another browser? Have you contacted apple to see if they could be of any assistance?

I would also request that you visit apple forums to see if anyone has found any work arounds or a possible solution to the problem that you are running into.

I would also request that visit the below provided link and see if the the customer's on this thread could be of any assistance to you as well.

Re: Alert Web Commander - Adobe Flash Version

You don't get it, do you? Doesn't surprise me....being Logitech. You have effectively made several generations of Mac computers obsolete by requiring the higher Flash version installed in order to view video over the web. Unless we all upgrade our Macs to 10.6+, we cannot upgrade to the newer version of Flash, therefore we can no longer view video through our web browsers (it doesn't matter at all WHAT browser we try to use). What kind of short-sighted, dumb-**bleep** upgrade plan was this???
