Connecting cameras directly to a router

I have one camera that just doesn't get seen where it's connected via the power-line adapter. It happens to be in the same room as my router.

I know there's a way to connect the cameras directly to the router, but I can't seem to figure out what (if anything) I need.

What's needed to do this?

thanks,

Bert

Re: Connecting cameras directly to a router

You'd have to have a PoE injector or PoE switch between the camera and the router to provide power to the camera as the router doesn't provide that.

If you plug the camera HomePlug unit into the same AC receptacle as the HomePlug adapter that goes to the router that "should" work too.  Make sure no HomePlug stuff is plugged into any surge protected strip or UPS...as that can block the HomePlug signal.

Thanks - looks like the PoE injector will do it - just ordered one.
