How to Delete clips while playing

I am still in the first week of testing these cameras.

One thing I couldn't figure it out yet.

While I am on a playing mode in Commander, and I watch all day clips, how do I delete them (I know how to do 1 x 1).

Is there a way that I can delete everything between 9AM - 10PM? or whole day at one shot?

Hello ByteLess,

Well usually we do not reply for 24 hours so that we can give our great users time to reply as this is a peer to peer forum and not an official support avenue.

To your question though usually the easiest way to bulk delete files is to go straight to the folder where your files are stored and delete them from there.

Re: How to Delete clips while playing

Hello ByteLess,

In addition to CatLogitech reply, I would like to add by informing you that the Videos deleted will not replicate on the Playback mode on the Commander.

If you want the Commander to replicate the changes that you had performed be it adding files or deleting files from your system, you would have to delete the RecordingMediaIndex File and then re-sync the software.

Please see the Link below in which I had provided for instructions on how you can do this.

Re: How to Delete clips while playing

To: Kiruban and Cat,

Sorry for hijacking the thread.... But, has anyone at Logitech come up with a solution for the following intermittent inconvenience?

If you don't leave the latest instance of a camera recording (I have 3) on the AlertCommander interface on the PC, and, the Alert software, or, the PC crashes, when you reboot, the cameras will resend all the recordings that have been deleted, for days.  In other words, if I don't leave a clip on my PC, the cameras will resend every clip that had previously been deleted.

Is there an answer to resolve this inconvenience yet? Leaving a clip behind before shutting down was the last work-around.

Thnak you for your consideration.

Hello AppleR112,

Do apologize for the delay in response.

This issue was back in the older 3.0.234 software. The problem has since been resolved. The current software is much more stable and has a little more features that the older software .

To answer your question, I am going say "Yes" It has been resolved.

Re: How to Delete clips while playing

Kiruban,

No problem on the delay.  Your continued support is always appreciated.

But, I have to disagree with you on the new version resolving the problem. I wouldn't have posted if what you say is true on my end.  If I don't leave the latest  video clip for all 3 cameras in the AlertCommander tonight, at shutdown, then, I can count that, when I reboot in the morning,  the cameras will hemorrhage videos back to my PC for as many days as there is no protected video clip to stop it.  Ask me how I know.  LOL

Yes, the new version is still allowing my cameras to resend deleted clips. I don't know what I may be doing wrong, but, if you have an idea, please advise.

Hello AppleR112,

This is because the cameras do not "know" that these clips were deleted on purpose. All they know is that they have videos on the SD card that need to be transferred to the computer. The best thing to do if this concerns you would be to download all the clips and then format your SD card.

Re: How to Delete clips while playing

Ok, Cat.... I did as you suggested. Deleted clips and reformatted the SD cards in the cameras (I used the Format Utility in AlertCommander).

Result- After reboot of Alert, Camera #1 downloaded greyed-out, deleted clips back to 3/10/2012, until the camera found a "Protected clip", and then, stopped.

What am I missing?
