I bought the Alert Master system (includes 1 indoor cam) and an extra indoor camera. They don't have any IR illumination and I wish they did. There image is totally black by night.
The outdoor ones do, but I didn't figure I needed them, since they're indoors.
I tried fiddling with the brightness settings, and I can get it pretty bright by night, but then it's burned out by day (you'd think the auto brightness would handle that).
Any options?
I'm considering building my own illuminator using a whack of IR LEDs.

Well, the outdoor cameras are designed for IR...they also have an IR filter that engages for night-mode that the indoor ones don't have. I'm not sure how good the IR will be with the indoor camera...I suspect you won't like it. Maybe you can exchange the Indoor Master you bought for an Outdoor one ?

I bought some IR lamps with a sensor that turns on at night....it doesn't work at all...image is better, but still can't see anything.

Hello palak.desai@gma,
This request has already been made on the Future enhancement request thread by numerous individuals. Logitech is always evolving and they always come up with different things. The Alert System is still new and they are always making changes and testing features and implementing different things as per the needs and capability of the system.
Individuals at Logitech definitely work to improve their systems and have recently implemented a few features that was requested on the thread. I would highly recommend that you visit that thread and make the request just so they are aware that one other individual is also interested in such an implementation.
Also fill out a survey at http://www.logitech.com/ithink and provide the specifics that you seek. If I remember correctly, these surveys gets sent to the Product Specialist so its a good chance they will consider it.
Hope you get you wish and I sure hope to partake by enjoying the implementation if and when it does gets done.
