Hi,
I recently purchased a Logitech 750e IP camera. I am trying to use it to create a time lapse video of our backyard landscaping project. The included software doesn't do what I need so I am trying to use a Linux tool called Motion (http://www.lavrsen.dk/foswiki/bin/view/Motion/WebH
Anyway, I got Motion set up, but I am unable to communicate with the camera itself. I can ping its IP address, but when I start up Motion, it says that the camera is not responding.
Has anyone uses the Motion software before? Are their any special ports that I need to connect to? Is this Logitech camera only able to work with the included software?
Thanks in advance,
Dave

Based on this, it appears motion only works with MJPEG streams--the alert cameras don't serve out this type of stream. They use RTSP, and H264/AAC, which provides significantly better quality (and audio!), but a lot of software out there only works with MJPEG because it's easier to digest.
You might ask someone on the motion project if they have some sort of RTSP plugin.

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, I really want to use this camera to do a time lapse recording, and the supplied Logitech software is unable to do that.
