I currently have a wilife indoor / outdoor system and have been partially pleased being I have to run on a pc. I love your products and think your logitech alert is great. When if ever are we going to see a great system like this have the ability to be used on both pc and mac. I own a mac but have my wilife running on a pc laptop and would love to upgrade along with having the option of not needing the computer to be on for security recording.
Thanks

You could always just use boot camp to run windows on your mac or even more simple use Parallels -link below
Install the software using that and it should work fine. Parallerls has a free trial so its worth a shot at least to try it.

Web Commander works quite well in Safari on a Mac. Once you setup your cameras using Parallels or Boot Camp you can use the whole system quite well with just the web interface. You lose the ability to archive your clips to your pc but with the new cameras I have found that even with a 2Gig MicroSD card I can get quite a bit of video if my motion zones are setup correctly.

I ran commander on a Mac mini with a 2,4Ghz chip and 4GB RAM using Parallels. Performance was terrible and I expect no better from Bootcamp or VMware. I wouldn't recommend it.
Bring us native OS X support for Commander please!
Running on Dell Latitude 6520 Laptop: Win 7 Pro 64, 2.2Ghz quad core i7 Intel, 8GB RAM, NVIDIA NVS 4200M (DDR3 512MB)
Apple Time Capsule Router

Our Engineers are focusing right now on Stability and Connectivity. Once we're comfortable in saying that the software is performing to specification, we'll definitly revisit the drawing board for features such as Mac compatibility. We've heard the demand for this software and we're certainly interested in opening up a whole new market for our Alert systems.
Thank you all for your feedback, I'll pass this along to the Engineers.

I second this request. I have alert loaded up on my PC server which is currently NOT connected to a monitor. I can RDP but logitech has a feature in place which does not allow full viewing/control of Commander via remote connection. That is a GREAT security feature, and I don't wish it weren't there. But I use a macbook daily and that makes it difficult for me to replay footage on my commander on demand. I really wish I could just load up the commander on my macbook and run it that way. I have no desire to load it up in VM - that is a work-around that I do not care to explore. Please support the growing numbers in the mac community (which I never thought I would be a part of a year ago!)

That is really unfortunate that you guys aren't supporting Mac Os. I was within a click of ordering the outdoor system with 2 additional cameras when my wife told me to double check on the operating system. I am now really glad that she did. In this day and age, I couldn't imagine a company would release a product that relys on home computers without making it compatible for both PC and Mac. Too bad I have to go elsewhere since I am usually a fan of your products.

Trevor, I have another question -- will the web-based Commander software run on an iPad? See above, where another user recommends running the web Commander on Safari on a Mac, which seems like a good idea. However, I've heard that the video stream is Flash-based, in which case (as I understand it) it wouldn't run on an iPad. Can you clarify?
Thanks,
tblewis

The Alert Web Viewer at http://Alert.Logitech.com requires Flash Support, which to the best of my knowledge is not offered on Apple Ipads.
The Alert App on the iPhone and iPad use the actual MP4 video stream from the cameras, with no flash involved.
