Re: Logitech Alert on Mac OS

One more vote for a Mac version.   The new alert system is basically a new version of the wilife system in my opinion.  I don't understand why logitech didn't create a mac version yet when they've had the system technically for a while.  Furthermore, removed features that were available in the pror system.  Using the web version is unacceptable since it does not allow you to do anything compared to what the desktop allows.  Also running the desktop version in a virtual machine does not solve anything when the video does not display correctly using Parallels.

I'm dissapointed in this product and I'm just about dissapointed with Logitech in general.  I'm constantly hearing the "we are working on stability" line.  I appreciate the work, but just like my Revue, it looks like it's going no where.  If there is ever a beta version of web commander that gives more functionality or a mac version of the commander sign me up.  I would love to give two cents.

Re: Logitech Alert on Mac OS

[ Edited ]

I'd also like to request that Logitech Alert get full Mac OS X support.

Mac OS X Lion just sold 1 million copies on opening day alone. I'd be willing to bet that a lot of those first-day power users would love to be able to get this security system - everyone I've shown mine to has been very impressed. Luckily I have an old Windows HTPC I can keep around for this purpose but I'd much rather not have to keep it around just for this one thing. iOS devices have made a global impact and it's making more and more people take a look at Mac OS X for the first time.

It's time to get your software folks to start re-engineering the software to work with Mac OS X and Windows...

Re: Logitech Alert on Mac OS

Another vote for a mac version. I've been coming back and checking for many months (years?) now, prepared to immediately buy this product as there is an OSX (or Linux) version. I'm extremely disappointed that it's still not there, and I think it's probably time to give up and look for an alternative. Not impressed.

Re: Logitech Alert on Mac OS

Wanted to let everyone in this thread know I have started working on an open source version of Alert Commander for OS X. I have some more details in this thread:

Re: Logitech Alert on Mac OS

This is stopping not only me but others I know from purchasing this product. I don't run PCs in my household and neither does a friend who was interested in this product as well. Mac support or not interested.

Re: Logitech Alert on Mac OS

If there is something you think can be improved on on the current program please go to http://www.logitech.com/ithink.

This will be a product survey that will then be directed to the appropriate department.

Mac improvement suggested as requested!

Would be fantastic if you could write a native Mac app!

Re: Logitech Alert on Mac OS

Hello stavale8099,

We do sincerely apologize that at this very moment that we do not have any support for the Mac in regards to the Alert Commander/ Alert Camera's. Just like CatLogitech had mentioned in the earlier posts, please do take the time to fill out a survey at http://www.logitech.com/ithink and do mention your concerns as it gets send directly to our head office.

For those who do have Mac's and are interested in Setting up the Alert Camera's , the work around is to acquire Boot Camp. Boot Camp is basically a dual operating system. During boot up you will be given the choice to load windows or Mac. If you have such capability on your Mac's, you can certainly Install the Software on the Windows Platform on the Mac and that , we will support. A handful of individuals are using this feature and it works flawlessly.

We however DO NOT support Parallels or VM Wares.

 Regards.
