I've seen this mentioned a couple of times but I never saw a resolution.
My cameras are viewable locally and remotely with no problem. Everytime I restart my computer the logitech program goes thru the setup screen because it can't detect the newtwork adapter.
1 - yes the virus / firewall was turned off
2 - yes I reset the adapter...a few times.
3 - in the diagnostic report, it does not detect the adapter
4 - I can see the IP address that are assigned to my cameras, but the adapter still isn't seen
I've seen responses that people just ignored the adapter not being detected and everything was okay. I still want my adapter "found" in the logitech program.
Any ideas?
Randy

Hello rdhensley,
Sorry for the late response. The Network Adapter for your Alert Camera does not acquire an IP Address from your Router. Only the Camera's are IP based, not the Network Adapter.
It is merely a bridge source for your Camera(s) and your Router. If you look into your Diagnostics on your Commander, You will not see anything under Network Adapter, that is because the Network Adapter is not controlled by the IP unlike you Camera's which has a Mac Address.

Do the cameras acquire the IP's via DHCP or are they staticly assigned?

As Lane-G has suggested, the camera's uses IP Address that is acquired from DHCP. You can assign static IP Address to the Camera's. To accomplish this, you will have to get the Mac Address of the Camera(s) and then assign static IP's to the Mac Address of the Camera(s).
This is not recommended but it can certainly be done.

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping it was something like that. I had noticed in the diagnostic report that there was no info for the adapter. The only reason I was asking was the pesky setup routine it goes through every time the computer reboots. It can never detect my adapter with all firewalls/virus checkers off...doesn't seem to cause a problem with viewing the cameras, so I guess it's doing its job.
Thanks for the info

Hello
I have one floor running 6 camera and it seems for the most part to work. and on my secound floor on the same network, but different circut I have 4 more cameras. Both floors of their own network adapter.
every once and a while Our network will just completly shut down or start going so slow that nothing works, but simply unpluging one network adapter the network will start working perfectly. we have unplugged all the cameras and still nothing works with both network adapters in.
any ideas?
