Re: New feature/enhancement request master thread

I see a few requests regarding night-mode, but I'd like to add one for setting the Brightness/Contrast separately for day/night.  I manually set mine as the Auto setting tends to key off of the brightest areas...leaving the darker areas way too dark.  At night, I really need to set them even higher.  I find that setting Contrast to minium works best overall...still plenty of contrast.

Re: New feature/enhancement request master thread

Also, the new AlertCmdr release ( 3.0.247 ) now turns-off recording if motion slider at zero.  While this is probably a good new option for some folks, it would be better implemented with a "record on/off" check-box...leaving the slider and current recording alone.

Re: New feature/enhancement request master thread

Still no adjustment of post movement detection recording time. Pitty. Very pitty.

Re: New feature/enhancement request master thread

  • Make a Windows Phone 7 version of Logitech Alert Web Commander
  • Enable sending alert video snippets (like WiLife allowed) - the snapshots never provide good visibility of what triggered the alert, capture vehicle license plates coming up a driveway, or give the user a good idea of a person's behavior.

Re: New feature/enhancement request master thread

"The ability to schedule email alerts. [requested by  akgem1]

I would like to be able to specify the time periods for when email alerts are generated. I only want to see email alerts when no one is at home (let’s say  from 9 to 5, Monday through Friday), but I don’t want to be getting emails every 5 minutes each evening/weekend when everyone is at home and kids are running around the house triggering alerts on all cameras."

+1 on this!

The ability to set the motion sensor lights to Blink once every X seconds.

I want the motion sensor lights to be able to be set to OFF, AUTO, and a new feature that you can set for it to blink once ever X seconds.

The Status lights are a give away of system status when on, and having the motion sensor lights in AUTO lets potential burglars to figure out if they are getting detected.

Re: New feature/enhancement request master thread

I would like to request a new feature where you can keep the camera's red blinking light off most of the time when the camera is in silent monitoring mode, but have the red blinking light turn and start flashing when it has detected motion and shifts into active recording mode....to essentially ward off those who have walked into its field of sight.

I would like to have the camera somewhat hidden and have the ability to make itself less conspicuous to those who approach the camera until they draw near to the line of sight.

Re: New feature/enhancement request master thread

Don't know if it's been suggested already but i would like to have an option to make an ftp connection whenever motion is detected and deliver snapshot/video to this host.

No point in storing the clips on my pc if it gets stolen.

Re: New feature/enhancement request master thread

How about improving the Alert Commander client software so it's display can be maximized to fit any size of monitor (and doesn't cut off the lower or upper sections of the screen as happens now)? This is mainly an issue for small-screen displays, including netbooks; in my case a small secondary monitor that I would like Commander to run on continuously. Windows will recognize the screen constraints and all other programs work fine. Commander doesn't seem to comply with Windows standards and that seems to be the problem.

Re: New feature/enhancement request master thread

SLCLimey, I think this issue has something to do with how live video is displayed; I don't write code (programs) so I have no idea what the challenges are. I've been looking for the same thing you are - nice, normal re-sizable windows etc would be great. I've used a few other web based DVR software and the Logitech software beats those other ones I've used hands down (first of all, the English is correct, not to mention it actually works decent.) I use a netbook too, but not with commander - I'm not sure how or when this type of video feature will ever be available; I've got to assume it isn't easy otherwise it would likely have been seen on at least some piece of software. (I've not tried blue iris or vitamin d video, so i can't comment as to whether or not either of those has that ability - perhaps someone else can chime in who has used those.
