Night Vision not working

At some point the click you get when IR illumination switches on, has stopped.  The LEDs do work.  I can point the defective camera in the direction of a camera that does work correctly and see that it is illuminating.  I've tried a hardware reset and all my firmware are up to date.  Scratching my head????

I would check the settings in the Commander Software to make sure that the night vision is set to 'Auto' and not 'Off'. Also try doing another reset using a small paper clip on the camera. Otherwise I suggest you contact our technical support as the camera may need to be replaced.

Did you ever got your camera working again. I seem to have the same/similar problem.

My camera has been working just fine the since I got it a month ago, and I was very pleased with the performance.

About a week ago i changed the location of the camera and suddenly the night vision don´t work.

Both of the red led´s are showing on the front and I think that the camera is capturing in "night mode" (black&white)

since when a light goes on the picture stays black&white for a few seconds before it switches to "normal" color mode.

I have run the diagnostics as I thought that it might be the outlet producing "bad" current but it says "94" on power.

I´ve changed the camera to two other outlets but with the same result. I have reset the camera, gone through every setting on the camera flipping nightvision on and of and so on but nothing happens.

Sadly I do not yet have another outdoor camera so I can check if it is the led´s or something else that is wrong.

The night vision in my 750e camera has stopped working after less than two months in service.  I've checked the Auto/Off settings, and reset the camera with the hole on the back, and neither have worked.  Can I converse with support here, or do I need to call the 888 number?

Hello qfrasier,

 

 When you say the Night vision in your 750e has stopped working, what exactly has happened? 

 

 1, Is the Camera not recording in night vision mode?

 2, Is the Camera not enabling night vision when it gets dark outside?

 3, Are you not able to see a black and white picture on the Commander?

 

 Have you attempted to take the camera down, move it into a dark room and test it? If you don't have any dark room where you can test,  get the camera working, make sure you can see it on the Commander and then Put a real dark piece of clothing on top of the lens to block out any light.

 

 Check and see if the image on the Commander turns black and white.

 

 Let me know how it goes.

In the daytime, my camera looks normal in Commander.

At night, the video used to be bright, and in black and white.  Now the video in Commander for that cam at night just looks really dark.  The video looks just like my indoor cameras when it's dark.  The IR leds are on, but I don't believe the IR light is on.  I can see the video, but it's REAL dark.  It appears to be in black and white, however, it's dark outside.

Hello qfrasier,

 

If I understand correctly, you are able to see the IR Lights on the Camera, but the Video recordings on the Camera are really dark? 

 

 When the Camera is working, can I get you to check the following for me.

 

 1, Make sure the Camera is recording (if you need to, take a walk back and forth in front of your camera to trigger motion)

 2, Check to see if the IR Lights are on(I did see that you mentioned they are on)

 3, Go to your Commander and click on Playback. Give it about a few mintues

 

 On the Playback, check to see if you were able to see yourself walk back and forth and see if that video shows up in black and white.

 

 If it does not, Can I get you to unplug the power for the Camera, give it about 1 - 2 minutes and Plug it back in. Once you do that, perform the above steps once again and see if that makes any difference.

 

 Let us know how it goes.

hi qfrasier,  check to see if you have the video image box checked to auto levels. and make sure that the slide bars are set to 50. you can find the video image in the camera settings section.  ron

1.  The camera IS recording, but it's just dark shadows.

2.  The IR lights ARE on.  I  have never seen them NOT on.

3.  In playback, I can watch myself outside walking around, but everything is dark.  Would you like a copy of the video?

 

I unplugged the camera for about five minutes, and once it booted back up and came up in Commander, it was still dark, and the IR lights are not on.

Levels are set to Auto, and the sliders are centered... but of course, they can't be altered when on Auto.

 

I have set the levels manually, and turned night vision to off and Auto.  The IR lights are not working.
