I bought a 750e on amazon and had a halo after instaling it. I came to this site and read on how to fix it. Problem was eventually solved.
Bought a REFURBISHED 700e and added it to my system. Looking great during the day and then came darkness. Had that halo. I reposition the camera and cleaned the lens, problem was still there. Moved the camera to a new spot and the halo did not go away. Move it a third time and position a large tarp on the ground to see if anything was bouncing from the IR. Same issue.
Camera in three different places and still a halo...do I have a bad camera? What should I do next?

Without actually seeing the scene, the halo is caused by something close enough to reflect a lot of IR light back into the lens ( which then reflects from the lens to the back of the lens cover, and into the lens )...so mounting it where nothing is close is about all you can do.

Hello neneago,
We did see some cameras that had a halo that was not from reflection, but this was very rare. Try what Useless suggested or even try putting a towel or something dark over the camera to make it go into night vision mode and see if the halo still appears. If the halo still appears then you will have a bad camera. Since it is refurbished though, if it was not bought through our website it will NOT have a warranty and you will have to go back to the retailer you bought it from.

Just to add one more thing, make sure you are zoomed all the way out when looking for things that are reflecting. Since the zoom is digital, the source of the reflection can be outside of a zoomed view.

It could be as UselessS said. Something that is just outside the field of view or even if walls or overhangs are just a bit too close. Also plants are a big culprit as well as cars.

I had 2 cameras show halos at night but they had objects near them (deck beam and metal air duct). I spray prainted the objects flat black and the halos disappeared. If you are testing it by leaving on a desk or chair or something within arms reach for the test, you could be inducing the IR reflection halo problem.

Like i mention in my first post...I have dealt with halos before on my original camera. Got rid of them. Will continue to keep trying different spots and angles.

Finally figured out the problem. The camera was too low..about 10 ft. I position it in my original location but went up three 3 feet. halo is now gone.
