Re: Open Source Alert Commander Replacement

Greetings.

Let me echo what has already been said here:  Many thanks for your great job in making the Alert system compatible with Macs.

I've been using the software for a few weeks, and it has been working flawlessly except for one thing:  On my iMac, the live feed shows a black screen.  Occassionally it will flicker for a frame and then go black, usually when I switch cameras (I have three).  All recorded videos display and playback fine, this only occurs with the live feed.

iAlert live feeds display fine on my MacBook Air (I see a brief QuickTime logo and then the feed begins), and the live video displays on the iMac when using VLC.

Both Macs have OSx Lion.  My iMac is a 27" i7 2.93 with 16gb RAM.

Any help greatly appreciated!

Re: Open Source Alert Commander Replacement

Hey, by the way, I am very interested in your thread. I am on the fence about purchasing this camera system, as I run Linux and Mac in my home.

Please keep the good work coming. Much appreciated!

Re: Open Source Alert Commander Replacement

Dear szatmary,

congrats on your piece of software. It's helping me a lot.
However, in the last days, the iAlert is crashing immediatly  after opening. It will run for 10 seconds and then crash.

I re-installed it, it worked fine for a few hours, but now it's crashing again.

Any ideas of what it could be?

Greetings from Brazil,

Re: Open Source Alert Commander Replacement

I have that every once in awhile.  It's always been a corrupted file that iAlert is trying to transfer from the camera.

The solution is to format the microSD card.  If it happens again, best to put in a new card.

Re: Open Source Alert Commander Replacement

Thank you so much for the time and effort you have put into a product Logitech has not done.

Apple is taking market share daily and huge amounts in the last few years.  Yes Windows it the primary OS, but I wonder what residential numbers are looking like these days.

This logitech system is targeted towards residential not commerical users and I have a feeling OSX has taken some market share in the last few years that wasn't previously there.

I do hope Logitech creates a Mac based "Installer" version.

Re: Open Source Alert Commander Replacement

It's working great on 10.7.3 on my MacPro. Although very limited like itr was mentioned before, the high resolution video is excellent. I am able to see some old clip but nothing recent. I don't hear any sound yet, maybe I have to play around with the sound settings. Keep up the great work!

Re: Open Source Alert Commander Replacement

I had it working until now, I don't know what happened the camera can't be found. Are there any preferences I can trash to re establish connection with the camera?
