I think this is a tricky question <g> I suspect the specs or an engineer would say the 100 meter max applies here too, but depending on the cable and load, it can vary. I think some Cat6 cables use slightly bigger wire...so a sourcing task there. The load as I understand it for a 700e in night-mode is about 7 watts...so maybe the voltage drop wouldn't bee too bad. But all that said, does it matter if the ethernet can't communicate at that distance ? Sounds like you are in a case where it just "might" work if all the variables are working for you...may be possible, just not probable <g>.

That is correct. The engineers have only tested the cables to a max of 300ft linked. Another 30 ft should not make a big impact but we do not know for certain that it will work.
With a distance as 330 or even a little longer providing you are taking into account the slacks, the data flow could be compromised. Also, if something does happen to the cables, then you looking to replace a 100ft of cable which might not be that feasible.
Is there anyway you can introduce a PoE switch in between that will allow you to achive your goal and have a good stream flow from the camera to the Commander.

I had power and line of sight, more or less. I used a 5.8 Ghz link from Ubiquity
About 90 bucks a side. (you need two). Works great. And you could do direct burial of low voltage wiring if power is an issue.

I do not currently have power that I can tap into at the gate - solar cell charger/12v battery operated gate control.
I have to make several sorter cable/camera runs so I think I'll just pull enough Cat6 out of the box - add connectors and give it a try when I get a chance. If it don't work I'll use the cable for the shorter runs so I really won't be wasting anything but my time if it don't work.
I thought about going wireless but the 12v inverter might kill the gate battery over time not to mention the enclosure/weather issues for the equipment.

You just need to make sure the flat cable is at the camera as that is how it is water proof.

Hello everyone! I am stuck with a problem and need your help. I have a radio modem that gets up through POE device. On connecting modem with POE device it is not getting up infact LED over POE device goes off also after connecting with modem. While trying several tricks I cut the 7 & 8 pair of ethernet i.e. of -ve DC then LED gets on but didn't power up the device. Can you please help me what can be an issue here?
