Hi there, I've been trying out the premium services via the 7 day free trial and have a question.
When does the video get uploaded to the Logitech server?
Does it get uploaded when a) the recording has finished due to inactivity detected or b) as it's being recorded?

The file is available to be archived to the PC, shared via the web servers, or retrieved via the mobile apps after the recording is finished. The recordings themselves are initially stored on camera.

Ah.. If I understand this correctly, it seems to creata a potential issue.
Lets say that a bad guy walks up to the camera (since it's outside) and jumps up and down in front of it (so it'll keep recording), he could then smash it with a baseball bat (or cut the wire or unplug it or something) and there will be no video to look at later?
Is this really the case? And if so, is there any way/suggestions on how to prevent this from happenning?

If you keep PC Commander running on your PC your camera will always backup to the PC archive and you can further use options like drop box to archive offsite.
The camera itself tries to keep motion recording files to a few MB so an extended motion event will become more than one file. It's transparent to you and me when we play it back most of the time as the archiving will merge them for you automatically; but when one of these smaller file segments is closed it immediately would archive and you would have some record of events.

Ah, that's good to hear.
If I purchase the annual Premium Services will that be good enough since the video will upload to Logitech or is the delay potentially long and that I should also backup to PC as a form of secondary protection in case the camera is compromised?

Backing up to your PC would be your best option followed by offsite options like DropBox.
The Premium Service doesn't backup recordings to the Logitech service though it will host files you choose to share from Web Commander. The premium service virtualizes the Commander SW experience for you in a browser from any device so you get remote command and control of all your sites and cameras. It also enables remote playback by providing realtime backend transcoding of all your camera recordings so you can have a good playback experience across computers and mobile devices even if the device can't support the HD source recordings.

Thanks again. I've been working on getting drop box set up on a small server that I have running.
Is there a config file for the Alert Commander software that I can edit by hand, by any chance?
I'm running into issues trying to set the disk space quota because the slider is jumping around in increments that are too big. I want to limit the max backup size to 10 gb, but the first tick is only 0.1 gb and the second tick jumps to 20 gb! I can't seem to be able to pick the size that I want because my data drive that is hosting the drop box folder is over 2 TB.

Hmm, good one. I think the ticks are at 1% increments which is still 20gb on that drive...
The commander.ini file has the disk Quota data.
For example:
VideoFileManager:1
iskQuotaBytes:1622320128
The commander.ini file is located at "%system drive%:\ProgramData\Logitech\Logitech Alert Commander".
Here are steps to make changes to Commander.ini
- First close PC Commander application.
- Make sure application is exited from system tray.
- Open Commander.ini and change "VideoFileManager:1
iskQuotaBytes:" to desired size. - Save the changes.
- Launch PC Commander and UI will reflect the user changes.

Not sure where those smiley faces came from; but they represent a colon ":" and a capital "D"
