I have one outdoor and one indoor camera. I've already had Logitech replace one SD card on my indoor camera and the other day I noticed it blinking red/yellow again. I think the camera just gets too hot and kills the card (just a guess). I will try one more card and leave the cover off and see if that helps. The outdoor camera has not had this issue (it had a different issue where the poweline adapter died).

Try making motion zones or putting the sensitivty down a bit as a lot of motion that is not being downloaded to the computer properly can sometimes cause this issue to occur.
Or even when you go to Commander put the motion sensitivity to 0 to let all the videos download daily and then see if this issue still occurs.
Just remember to put the sensitivity back to how you want it.

My 700 e Camera stopped recording for no apparent reason. Camera was working fine but no recording was possible. Tried reformatting with the Alert software and via local PC, with no success. Replaced SD card with new one, but got same results. Decided to reload camera firmware. This last step got the SD card to be recgonized again and recording. For how long, time will tell. So anyone having SD card not recording anymore or not recgonized by the system, try a firmware reload to the affected camera, it might work for you to. Goog luck..

jdlax27 wrote:I am having this exact same issue with my cameras. For some reason though, it only happens with two out of three of my cameras (the one that is furthest and has the worst signal, go figure). It is very annoying not having two out of three cameras never recording. I wish Logitech would make an option to bypass the SD card when it is not working and download straight to a computers hard drive. This would at least give me some sort of recording.
I feel your pain with the ladder too, one of my cameras is in a location that requires a ladder to get to it and with about 2 feet of snow on the ground here that is going to be impossible to even attempt a fix for a good while.
I'm exactly in the same boat. I have (3) 700e cameras, of which 2 started having the mysterious "stopped recording for no reason" issues about 2 months ago. The only camera that's not having this problem is the "farthest" camera, and the only thing that's different about this camera is that it has a larger "aftermarket" SD card (Kingston) as opposed to the other 2 cameras running with stock SD cards. Oh, and this camera is also installed outside, while the 2 troublesome cameras are inside. Now one of those 2 cameras won't sync the time with the commander, and nothing helps, not even firmware re-flashing.
I bought 2 more cameras to add to my system, but they are still sitting sealed in the boxes because I don't want to have another $500 tied up in a system that "may be fixed in the future".

akgem,
If you pull out the SD card and manually format it in Windows (format it as NTFS), does that resolve the problem at least temporarily?

The next version of camera firmware has a bunch of improvements around time stuff. In the mean time to solve the time issue, set your computer to use pool.ntp.org as the time server, and restart Commander. See this thread for more: http://forums.logitech.com/t5/Alert-Security-Syste

I already had mine set to time.nist.gov, since this was all I had available besides the default windows on. It didn't seem to matter at the time, but I just checked my camera and to my surprise the time is finally synced up.

I had two 700 camera's out of four that would not record and could not be formatted. What worked for me was to unplug the camera and remove the sd card and then put it back in the camera . After pluging the camera's back in, both camera's came back as formatted and started recording again . I think it is almost like rebooting your camera . Try it and see what happens .

That's pretty much what I posted about a week ago as well...just a reseat of the SD card resolved it...no format, reset, etc.
