Reformatting your cards is actually quite simple - just insert them in your PC's SD slot, wait for them to come up on your screen and click on format (just make sure you are in the card, not your C dirve!) If you have a friend or family member who has basic skills they should be able to easily do this for you. You can also almost always go to YouTube and/or type into google what you want, such as "how to format an SD card" and it will give you step by step instructions. Good luck.

thanks much toppro...another problem I have is I can't find the little cards that these mini cards fit it to use my laptop....will keep looking for those also. Hopefully the new cards will fix it. Right now I have the card out of one camera just so we can see it live..rather have that then nothing.

While I agree that the cards supplied with the cameras are pretty lousy (to put it nicely) and probably do more damage to the Logitech's reputation than the amount of money they are saving by using this supplier, the above suggestion simply won't work becasue many people (myself included) run these cameras without power supplies, so having the SD card in the power supply would eliminate this system as an option all together, at least for me. What they do need to address is the ability of the cameras to keep recording to the Commander PC (if it's on-line of course) even when the SD card fails, and only record to the SD card when it's available.

I am on my 3rd SD card, all brand name quality cards. The camera or software "eats" the cards.
The Alert software doesn't handle the formatting properly (if at all). Taking the cards out and formatting on the computer does work (for awhile) but this is ridiculous to ask every Alert user to do. (especially when there is a ladder involved)
I will, for the 4th time, purchase a microSD card. I will unplug the camera. I will change out the card. I will cross my fingers. Then I will look for alternative solutions.
Other than this nagging problem, I love the camera. The quality is great. The interface is great. The ease of installation/setup is great.
Please Logitech, please fix this issue.

If you have to keep replacing SD cards in your camera it is best to contact Logitech to double check your camera to make sure everything is working as it should. I have 2 cameras and I do have to format sometimes, but never had to replace SD cards and they have been running over a year on one and about a year on the other.

The camera box came with an Adapter that looks like a normal SD card. Sometimes on a laptop ther card reader is on the side and is a slide out or is a slide out by the laptop mouse.

Dear Kristina,
We have 6 Logitech camera's and after nearly 2yrs... 5 of them don't record. We started by reformatting the cards with the commander software than with the SD adapter in the our laptops... Even did get new SD cards from logitech which 3 month later did also stop recording. Please post a solution since most of the people who got logitech Alert camera's thanks to our recommendations are having the same issues.
Kind regards,
James

Buy new SD micro cards made by a reputable company (ScanDisk?) - that will resolve the issues.
