I have a four camera alert system that has been plagued with constant problems. ALL of my micro SD cards have gone bad at different times. I have unplugged the cameras, reset the cameras, formatted the cards inside the camera, formatted the cards outside the camera, spent my own money to buy replacement cards and was even sent additional cards by logitech. Now I have 2 cameras working and 2 not. The two that are not: One camera's micro SD card doesn't work at all, the other after reformatting works for approximately a day before going bad again (flashing red/yellow and not recording). The cameras do not record when the cards are not working, but the software leaves you in the dark and doesn't alert you the system isn't recording or there is a problem unless you go into the storage on the cameras setting. I only found out after not seeing any recordings and walking out to the camera, climbing a ladder, and looking at the small LED status light.

I am having this exact same issue with my cameras. For some reason though, it only happens with two out of three of my cameras (the one that is furthest and has the worst signal, go figure). It is very annoying not having two out of three cameras never recording. I wish Logitech would make an option to bypass the SD card when it is not working and download straight to a computers hard drive. This would at least give me some sort of recording.
I feel your pain with the ladder too, one of my cameras is in a location that requires a ladder to get to it and with about 2 feet of snow on the ground here that is going to be impossible to even attempt a fix for a good while.

I am having the same exact probelm and Im ready to throw these pieces of crap in the garbage. I spent $1,300 on a 5 camera system a few months ago and ive only recently had trouble with the mini SD cards not formatting. they were fine for a while, but then 3 of the 5 stopped working. I got one of them to work and ended up wasting MORE money and I bought two new mini-SD cards (8GB). I cant get either card to format in the camera. When I format in my computer and put them in, the cameras still don't record to them and they wont format them via the Alert software. Again, I have two cameras that are completely WORTHLESS becuase they wont even record to the hard drive. Ive tried to work through Logitech but I keep getting automatic emails saying my trouble ticket will be closed due to me not responding... but what am I supposed to respond to, THEY haven't provided a solution to their crap product.

Any ideas you have for fixing the non-format problem would be greatly appreciated

I just started having this same issue with 2 of my cameras. SD cards not formatting, and no recordings to either PC or camera.

I have a total of three cameras. I started out by purchasing the outside setup "kit" with one camera. Then I ordered two more inside cameras. They have since been returned (multiple issues - IMO it's really worth the extra $ to get the exterior cams) and I purchased two more outside cameras that I am using indoors. I too have had the SD card/recording problems. As someone else mentioned, there was not indication that one of the cameras was no longer recording...until I wanted to review something. I have tried all of the fixes mentioned and nothing worked, could not reformat card in or out of camera. I was getting ready to take the offending cam down to return it when the new software and firmware upgrade came out (yesterday or the day before). After applying these updates, the camera began to record again. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that something in the update permanantly fixed the problem. Any ideas on that or do you all think it was just a coincidence that the camera began to function properly?

I think I saw at least three fixes in the release notes about the SD card:
* Fixed error where camera might fail when microSD card includes IO (input/output) errors.
* Corrected error caused when reformatting the microSD card from PC Commander interface.
* Updated NTFS driver to correct potential microSD card formatting errors.

Had my system running for about a week now. The outside cam stopped recording 2 nights ago. Camera still works fine, Commander shows feed, but SD card shows the error message under "storage" setting. Card will not format. Rebooting does not help either.

Have you tried formatting the Micro SD card via the computer using the SD card adapter or did you just try formatting using the Commander Software?

I have tried repeatedly to format the cars via the software and via my computer hardware directly. after spending money on purchasing three new SD cards, it apears the problem is not the cards. If the cameras do not have a strong connecton to the main Alert controller, the cards show up in the ALert software as "unformatted". After spendin WEEKS testing my 5 cameras, Ive learned that two camera positions I have (one upstairs and one in the garage) do not stay live on my Alert system. They pop up and down on my system, but wont sustain a connection. When they do appear for a brief few seconds or a minute, the cards appear to not be formatted. WHen I move the cameras and cards to another closer location, the cards are fine. the problem is the stability of my Alert network which uses 5 cameras, but only 2-3 of them appear active at any given time. its really frustrating. Ive tried to work through cutomer service but that doesnt help. ive had issues with my $1,300 system since I bought them last October. its been extremely frustrating to say the least
