I upgraded my 2 cameras to 16gb ( Class 6 ) cards...intent was that it should provide enough space for me to be away for well over a month. I noticed today that the card was showing keeping data only from a few days ago. I ran the Diagnostics to see what it had to say about it, and it reports under 4gb. I had formatted NTFS from the PC, so I told the camera to format...basically the same result on both cameras. I thought maybe the Diags are mis-reporting, but I think the camera isn't seeing what it should. Logitech says these are upgradable to 32gb, but...? Below is what the Diags report for one formatted via camera...note the "SD CARD FAILS VALIDATION." text...meaning ?
SdCard is inserted
The partition on SdCard exists
SdCard is mounted
SdCard total space: 3689934848 bytes
SdCard free space: 3684524032 bytes

ID_FS_TYPE=ntfs
ID_FS_VERSION=3.1

ID_FS_LABEL=Logitech
ID_FS_LABEL_SAFE=Logitech
/usr/local/bin/sd-check --stats 2>&1

That...is very odd. If you pull the SD card out and format it in a PC, how large does it say the card is? And what make/model is the SD card?

PC says it has ~16gb free. Here is what Diag reports after PC NTFS format...really only the LABEL stuff is much different...
SdCard is inserted
The partition on SdCard exists
SdCard is mounted
SdCard total space: 3685740544 bytes
SdCard free space: 3118755840 bytes
vol_id /dev/mmcblk0p1 2>&1
ID_FS_USAGE=filesystem
ID_FS_TYPE=ntfs
ID_FS_VERSION=3.1
ID_FS_UUID=96FA1046FA1024D1
ID_FS_LABEL=
ID_FS_LABEL_SAFE=
/usr/local/bin/sd-check --stats 2>&1
Serial: 10211009
Manufacturing date: 02/2011
Max bus freq: 25.0 Mhz
Card kb: 32
Card read block size: 512
Card write block size: 512
Card manufacturer or name is not recognized.
Summary of errors:
Card manufacturer or name is not recognized.
SD CARD FAILS VALIDATION.

That's really odd. Do both cameras show only having 4 GB or so, or is it just one camera?
Just tried a 16 gb card I had laying around (sandisk) and it worked okay for me, but...maybe there's something weird about the a-data cards. Where did you buy it?

Yes, the two diag readouts are for each camera. Got them from newEgg. With one, you can always say you got a bad one, but with two cards & two cameras...would have to be a bad lot issue.

If you look at the Diag GUI report ( Detailed Diagnostic screen ), it looks a bit different from what is in the saved report ( which I pasted earlier in the thread )...The GUI report says the whole 16gb is there...but then that doesn't explain why it started overwriting clips from just a couple of days ago. Since I've reformatted, I guess I'll have to wait a few days at least to see if it does it again.
@jnoring...I would still like to see what your saved report says for your 16gb card ( SdCard.txt in the zip within the zip )...as those numbers don't seem to make sense.

Interesting--here's my SdCard.txt:
SdCard is inserted
The partition on SdCard exists
SdCard is mounted
SdCard total space: 3042439168 bytes
SdCard free space: 2847600640 bytes
vol_id /dev/mmcblk0p1 2>&1
ID_FS_USAGE=filesystem
ID_FS_TYPE=ntfs
ID_FS_VERSION=3.1
ID_FS_UUID=CCB05351B05340DE
ID_FS_LABEL=
ID_FS_LABEL_SAFE=
/usr/local/bin/sd-check --stats 2>&1
Serial: 8000eaf9
Manufacturing date: 08/2009
Max bus freq: 25.0 Mhz
Card kb: 128
Card read block size: 512
Card write block size: 512
Card manufacturer or name is not recognized.
Summary of errors:
Card manufacturer or name is not recognized.
SD CARD FAILS VALIDATION.
...so I see that same failure and I know for a fact that this card is larger than 4 GB like it's reporting (it's a 16 GB card)--let me check that out with someone internally, maybe there's a bug in the SdCard.txt reporting.
However, when I look in my df.txt, I see:
Filesystem Size Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/mtdblock7 55.0M 46.4M 8.6M 84% /
tmpfs 33.1M 692.0k 32.4M 2% /tmp
/dev/mtdblock7 55.0M 46.4M 8.6M 84% /dev/.static/dev
tmpfs 10.0M 320.0k 9.7M 3% /dev
none 33.1M 20.0k 33.1M 0% /var/run
/dev/mtdblock5 5.0M 1.1M 3.9M 23% /mnt/data
/dev/mmcblk0p1 14.8G 185.8M 14.7G 1% /mnt/mmc
And in my commander diags, it shows as 16 GB. What does your df.txt say?

My df.txt looks very similar...
Filesystem Size Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/mtdblock6 55.0M 46.5M 8.5M 85% /
tmpfs 33.1M 188.0k 32.9M 1% /tmp
/dev/mtdblock6 55.0M 46.5M 8.5M 85% /dev/.static/dev
tmpfs 10.0M 320.0k 9.7M 3% /dev
none 33.1M 20.0k 33.1M 0% /var/run
/dev/mtdblock5 5.0M 1.1M 3.9M 23% /mnt/data
/dev/mmcblk0p1 15.4G 77.5M 15.4G 0% /mnt/mmc
