I recently upgraded Alert Commander to 3.1.139

Now on the main page, just next to the "Open Settings" button, there is a colored icon that looks like a red ball and a yellow triangle with an exclamation character .

It seems nonfunctioning, clicking on it does nothing, and I cant find any explanation in the "new" help.

I never saw this before.  Anyone else have this or anyone know what it means?

That's an error icon.  Do you see it on any of the settings tabs?  You might see it on the storage tab either for computer or cameras.  If its on the computer tab it means PC commander can't find the storage location you set for archiving (removable drive, network location, etc.).  If it's on the camera tab drill down further and it will be next to a camera where it's reporting an error writing to your SD card.  When you find the specific area generating the icon and you hover over the icon it will give you some info to help resolve the problem or troubleshoot it.

I have not found the error icon anywhere in any of the other tabs on the commander, storage locations, cameras, etc.  

Perhaps the fact that I have commander installed in two computers is causing this?

I have always had alert commander installed in my desktop pc and also in my laptop.

It appears that the "error icon" is only appearing on alert commander on my laptop, not on the desktop when I run commander there.

I have the desktop commander set to record camera videos on the disk, but on the laptop I do not have it recording on the disk of the laptop.

I only run commander in one of the computers, never both at the same time.

I use the laptop for viewing the camera live video only, sometimes run diagnostics.

Have been doing this for previous versions also, but this new version may be somehow recognizing that it is a second computer ? and causing the error icon?

Hmm that may be a corner case of some kind and the fact that you have not set a storage location is what is causing the error icon.  I'll report it back to QA.  If you're willing, could you set a storage location for a moment on the laptop and see if it goes away?  You can remove it later and it shouldn't affect what gets archived to your main PC.  It would just be helpful to know if that is the cause of the error.

Yep, that's it.

When I check the "Copy camera video to my pc" and immediately click Apply button, the error icon disappears.. ..comes back immediately when I remove the check also and click Apply.

I will ignore the error icon since it doesn't appear to be causing any problems.   It is problably normal in this new version to alert that no storage is happening... ( but there still is not any error icon on the "storage" tab or "computer" tab under storage )
