hi everyone, i have three 700e's. last night one of them stopped transferring video to my computer. you can see the grey spots of recording on the commander, but they're not turning blue like the other two. everything else with this camera is working fine. i tried turning the sensitivity to zero. what can i do to fix this? thanks ron

i forgot to mention, my camera's have stopped recording in the past before but i couldn't see the grey spots of what should turn into recordings before. so i'm thinking this might be a different problem. ron

If I remove the sd cards and install in my pc I can veiw recorded video and pics but this in volves a ladder etc . I even disabled firewalls etc still no luck and tech support not able to help me . Im getting frustrated and next time I use the ladder I will remove camers and take it all back for a refund . any help greatly appreciated .

Run the diagnostics for HomePlug and bandwidth...just to see if a weak link there. If the PC with Alert Commander is connected via WiFi, try with an ethernet cable.
@brucej1934, since you say the clips have never copied to the PC, did you specify a different directory from the default when you setup Alert commander ? Is there more than one login to that PC ? If so, what OS are you running...Win7 ?
@ron48170, if you cycle power to the cameras, does it behave at least for a while ?

no i didn't power cycle the camera. i noticed it this morning before i went to work. had no time to do anything with it. i just got back from work and it's recording to the computer again. for a few hours during the day today, i noticed the grey segments were not there. that tells me that the camera was lost for awhile. i have had this camera for over a year now and this has never happened before.
the other two cam's, i replaced those useless cards that comes with them with 32g cards. that took care of problems i was having with them. that's been since last summer. what puzzles me is why were those grey segments in the commander (they are still there). they never finished recording to the computer. how can that be? can anyone help me understand it please? thank you. ron

I'm guessing that the clip index on the PC or the camera may have gotten corrupted for some reason. If you shutdown Alert Commander on the PC and go to the camera directory you should see a MediaRecordingIndex.xml file. If you delete that and restart Alert Commander, it will recreate that index and re-sync with the camera. If those missing clips are still on the camera, they should get copied down.

I'm assuming your login has admin privledges and that the "copy camera video to my PC" box is checked...pointing to the directory you mention. You could test by creating a directory/folder on your C drive like C:\Alert ...then change the "Video Location" in Alert Commander to that and Apply. This is easy to do or undo and would tell you if there is some odd permissions issue with the default location.
I seriously doubt it has anything to do with the camera firmware...the PC does the copies.
