Driving Force GT Question/Problem

Hi everyone.

I recently purchased the DFGT about a couple of weeks ago, mainly to use on GT5. It's my first wheel so I have nothing else to compare it to. When on GT5, I feel, with FFB turned to maximum and with PWR S off, I still feel that the FFB is a bit weak. I don't drive, so can't be sure. I mean, with a controller, whenever you go off track on to grass or sand, it vibrates violently. But with the wheel, not quite the case. Yes there are some exceptions which include dirt rally races and when racing with the Red Bull X2010, where the FFB is brilliant. So is this normal? Or should I get it exchanged?

One of the recent problems I have noticed, and my main reason for writing this post, is that while turning, I hear a clicking noise. Though not all the time, but say when I'm on a particular track, on certain corners, depending on how I turn, I hear a clicking noise. It doesn't affect my driving, but I'm worried there might be a fault in the machinery. One other thing is that occasionally the wheel lets out a squeal when turning; to be honest it's more like the sound when one passes wind. However, this is less frequent compared to the clicking noise.

So please let me know what I should do; should I leave it the way it is because that's how the wheel is built? Or do I exchange it? Any replies and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Driving Force GT Question/Problem

Do you have the AC Adapter plugged in? I had the same problem until I looked at the part of the wheel where the pedals plug in into and noticed the AC plug input on the wheel. If you have it plugged in, it should turn by itself once you start playing GT5

Re: Driving Force GT Question/Problem

Thank you for your reply. Yes I have the AC adapter plugged in. That was the first thing I did. Without it, the GT led wouldn't even light up. I am getting force feedback, but it is weak and there are some unusual sounds coming from the wheel. I actually got it exchanged. But still, there is that odd sound on this new one. Plus, I recently purchased F1 2010, and I have noticed a violent rattling noice when driving over the kerbs or when going on to the grass or other debris (with FFB on 100%). I have a feeling that this one is also faulty. Can anyone please confirm this? If it is indeed faulty,  I will just return this and ask for a refund. Probably save up for a G27 or something. Thanks.
