Hello.
I recently bought a new G27 wheel for GT5. It's a well made wheel, but the problem, at least my problem, is that I feel very little or no feedback when I need it. I can hear the tires screech when I take a turn but the wheel doesn't transfer when the car is going to loss traction. So if I go too fast into a corner there is no feeling that I'm about to lose grip, though the tires are screeching a lot, so I spin out.
There is a lack of road feel. When I drive over rumble strips the wheel just does some 'clunk'. Same noise in some turns. So I have to pay more attention to noises than what the wheel has to tell me about what's happening.
I've read many good reviews about this wheel and how it transfers the road to the drivers, but sadly, my experience is the opposite.
I've tried different settings with no success in 'road feeling'
So I wonder if my wheel is deffective.
Cheers

Hello antolinez,
It's possible that it might be a hardware failure but first check if you can try improving the force feedback of your Logitech G27 Racing wheel by doing the following:
- Try increasing the force feedback level within the game settings.
- Try adjusting the force feedback using the Logitech Profiler:
-Download and install the Logitech Gaming Software from here.
-Launch the Logitech Gaming Software.
-Select New> Profile.
-Create a profile for the Gran Turismo 5 (Use this link as a guide).
NOTE: The link shows a different device but the same steps should apply to your Logitech G27 Racing Wheel.
-Click Options.
-Go to Global Device Settings (Refer to image).
I hope this helps. ![]()

Hi daleLogi
I've been changing the GT5 ingame FFB settings, from 5 to 8 and 10, and I got more feedback and more wheel resistance, but this kind of feedback is quite 'clunky' compared to the ps3 controller I'm used to. And again, I can't feel the wheels losing traction; just screeching.
I've always read that the feedback from this wheel was far superior to the controller, but the road feeling is quite dead with -at least- my wheel.
I only play GT5 on the PS3, so I can´t use the Logitech Gaming Software.
So now, what do you think I should do?
Many thanks for your quick reply

Hello antolinez,
You can try the following and check if it makes any improvements with how the force feedback responds:
-Calibrate the wheel:
- Plug the G27 AC power adapter into a functioning wall socket.
- Plug your AC power adapter firmly and directly into the bottom of the wheel.
- Plug your G27 into a different USB port on your computer or console.
- NOTE:This is especially important on consoles.
- Restart your console with the G27 plugged in.
-Make sure you have the latest Gran Turismo 5 patch (2.09).
-Adjust your steering options within the game:
- Select Simulation mode.
- Disable Steering assist.
I hope this helps.![]()

Hello antolinez,
I'm thinking if it might be a hardware issue. Do you have other racing games with force feedback to test the Logitech G27 Racing Wheel with?

Hello again.
No, I don´t have any other game I can test on the ps3. I've been playing GT5 with the wheel a bit more and I'm still not getting feedback from the wheels. Just some 'clonk' when I go over some rumble strips.
Best Regards

Hello antolinez,
You can also test your Logitech G27 Racing Wheel on a computer. Your Logitech G27 Racing wheel has a one year limited hardware warranty so if the issue persists, you can contact the point of purchase or the Logitech Support Team of your region for a warranty replacement.
