Re: Gran Turismo 5 & Logitech G27

I know that one is wipers and one is horn (cant remeber which, dont have the screen in front of me).

Oh ya, if you press the wipers, they dont come on during gameplay unless the weather needs it.

OK, thanks. I'll give it a shot next time. I know that my left red button seems to be rear-view by default.

Can someone help verify some information with me before i spend $269 on something i might not need.

I've read multiple topics saying that yes the G27 works perfect with the games but then i see multiple other threads saying it doesn't work and tons of random complaints about it.

All i need to know is if the steering wheel works, the pedals work, and the shifter works. Who cares about the other buttons? Yes it would be really nice if those worked but what if you just want to be able to drive (like me)? Will it work properly? I noticed some of the races have snow and rain in them but im assuming the window wipers come on automatically so you dont really have to mess with them.

So again, i ask: Will this work if all i want is the steering wheel, pedals, and shifter. No need for the extra super cool buttons that flip on the window wipers or honking the horn. Maybe they'll update it in the future.

Perfect, thanks a lot for the reply. Im assuming you own the g27 and GT5? Does it feel like the real thing or is it missing something? By the real thing, i mean driving a real car. I just want something that i can jump in and start casually racing around and possibly improve real life driving (heal & toe methods for example). I haven't bought GT5 yet just because i haven't touched my PS3 in ages (using the 360) and i don't want to spoil it by playing with regular controller (1 trigger, 1 analog stick doesnt sound fun to me).

edit: i used to own Forza 3 and that was pretty good game, but it lacked something and i just didn't feel accomplishment after finishing each race.

edit (again): of course, logitech JUST went out of stock on the G27 again. im trying to figure out if its just lame **bleep** people buying them so they can sell for $600 on ebay & craigslist or if logitech thought it was a good idea to only make 500 more and they sold out quickly...

Re: Gran Turismo 5 & Logitech G27

umm i had some force feedback issue if you saw my post/thread above. i think its known issue tho.

other than that i cant complain. works really well. unless you want to spend 400+ for the fanatec wheels.

i believe you cant find anything better around this price range.

heeltoe works

Re: Gran Turismo 5 & Logitech G27

To T1no,  of course you can set keys, change the keys in the drving force pro option.  I'm using the right wheel buttons for e-brake.  Check ur options before sayin you cant do it.

your right about the horn tho, but you can turn your wipers off when there on during a race.

I say buy the wheel, people complaining about compatibility issuse are most likely assuming and dont own it or even the game.

Re: Gran Turismo 5 & Logitech G27

So can you tell me which buttons on the G27 correspond to which buttons on the Driving Force Pro? I haven't had a chance to try them all but would love to get e-brake on the right red buttons on the G27.

Thanks!
