Okay gang, I've been waiting a long time for this wheel. After reading these forum posts I only have a couple of questions. (And pardon my ignorance).

With other shifters it was up,up,up to shift and down,down,down to shift.

1- If I take off in 1st gear (slot #1) and go to 6th (slot #6) does this go from 1st to 6th? or does it just read it as 2nd?

(I noticed posts about "centering" of the shifter)

2- Is the clutch mainly used for take off & stopping? Can you actually kill the engine?

My brother and I are pretty hardcore racers and have been for decades and this would be the ultimate evolution for us.

(PS3 is our platform)

the H-shifter works as you expect, i.e. you can jump from 1st to 6th

It cannot be used as a sequential shifter as on the G25

If you use the H-shifter to change gear, you don't have to use the clutch. If you use the clutch and get it wrong it is possible to stall the engine.

And I'm talking about Gran Turismo 5 here...
