Logitech Remote R800 Doesn't Work w/ OSX Lion

I discovered this as I was about to make a two-hour presentation to more than 1,000 people. I've been using Logitech remotes for years, and apparently you didn't prepare for a major OS update. We bought these for everyone in the company last year and now they're all useless.

I'd like to know the following immediately:

1. When, exactly, can we expect an update to fix this problem?

2. If you're not planning on issuing an update soon, can I send back 30 completely useless remotes for a refund?

This is incredibly irritating. You have an OBLIGATION to inform your customers if there's about to be a known issue with one of your products.

Re: Logitech Remote R800 Doesn't Work w/ OSX Lion

Hello wmg;

  The Logitech Presenters R400/R800, are not intended for use with any MAC OS, so there will be no additional support for these devices on any MAC platform.

For more information on supported platforms for these devices, please visit;

Supported Operating Systems for the R800

Supported Opersting Systems for the R400

Cheers!

Logitech Remote R400 Does Work w/ OSX Mountain Lion

Hi,

I just plugged a R400 into my Macbook Air running the latest version of Mountain Lion.

All the presenter's keys work on Powerpoint 2011 and in  Keynote (only) the navigation buttons work.

That's good enough support for me.

Cheers

Re: Logitech Remote R800 Doesn't Work w/ OSX Lion

It actually works just fine with Lion and Moutnain Lion.

The fist time you plug it in, OS X will try to identify the keyboard. Just press random keys until the wizard says that it can't identify the keyboard, and then pick the iso standard.

With Powerpoint all the buttons work just as they would on Windows. With Keynote you can go back and forth, but the blank screen and start presentation buttons won't work.

IMHO, Logitech's reply to the support post shows that they either don't give a cr@p about mac users or they are just too stupid to know whether or not their product works. Maybe in response you should just not buy their products and work with a company that actually cares enough to support the Mac community and takes the time to figure out whether or not their products work with Mac before answering a question with wrong information or lies.

Cheers!

Re: Logitech Remote R800 Doesn't Work w/ OSX Lion

I fully agree. It works fine with PPT for MAC, for Keynote as described. Can't understand what is so difficult to make all features also work for Keynote in order to support MAC users as well?

Support teams - how about advising possible solutions instead and also knowing your products at first before coming out and trying to response to experienced users? It's frustrating isn't it?

Great products but looks like Logitech doesn't want to reach out Pros on different Plattforms, whereas MAC in these days is really not that exotic anymore as used to be in the old days - so Logitech developpers get on the job!

Cheers

Yeah, this is working for me, but I agree that if you can't dig in and figure it out yourself, you should buy something made for the mac community.
