My R-RB5 recevier accidentally exchanged

Hi,

I have a problem as stated in the subject. My R-RB5 recevier accidentally exchanged with somone's. Although I have the same receiver model, it still can not work.

Is there any way I could pair the presenter with the 'new' receiver? I've tried resetting (reset button) and uninstalling the batteries; no solution so far.

Re: My R-RB5 recevier accidentally exchanged

Hi Cintech,

I've just tried using Connection Utility but it didn't work :smileysad:

BTW, I am using Windows 7 64-bit, while the utility says that it support until Windows Vista. Is that a problem?

The battery indicator is full, the laser pointer is working too. When the receiver connected to to my laptop, my laptop installing its generic drivers too (typical of Windows 7).

Thank you in advance,

Regards.

Re: My R-RB5 recevier accidentally exchanged

Hello DanielGo,

You may have to use a system running Vista or below to reconnect the receiver. I will test this in the lab and post my results.

Re: My R-RB5 recevier accidentally exchanged

Hello DanielGo,

Is this your presenter? http://logitech-en-amr.custhelp.com/ci/fattach/get/27417/   You will see that the receiver intended for use with this device has a connect button on it.

These are the result of searching for the M/N C-U0001.

It appears that you do not have the correct receiver.

Re: My R-RB5 recevier accidentally exchanged

Hi Cintech,

I am pretty sure that my Wireless Presenter is Logitech R-RB5. It is the exact same as the picture on the link of your first reply to me (http://www.logitech.com/en-au/432/175?section=downloads&bit=&osid=13) and it is not the same as Logitech Cordless Presenter as in your last reply (http://logitech-en-amr.custhelp.com/ci/fattach/get/27417/).

The receiver I got now is also similar as the previous stock, as far as I can remember. It has "Logitech" logo and it also fits perfectly in the presenter's compartment dedicated for it.

Here's the picture.

Re: My R-RB5 receiver accidentally exchanged

Hello DanielGo,

The receiver P/N : 810-000922 M/N C-U0001 unfortunately will not work with Logitech Wireless Presenter  R-RB5 . You may want to contact Logitech Customer Care for your region .

Re: My R-RB5 receiver accidentally exchanged - I have an R400 with the same issue

I found this website:

http://logitech-en-emea.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/14489/section/troubleshoot/crid/402/lt_...

that has the connection software.  It did not work on my Windows 7 machine, but I have an old laptop running XP and it did work there!  Oddly enough, the readme file comes in multiple languages, none of them being English, so I put the Spanish version through a translator to read it. :smileyhappy:

When you run the software, the R400 does not have a reset button.  You need to turn on the presenter to make sure the batteries are good (green light goes on), turn it off again.  Then hold down both arrow keys at the same time and turn the presenter back on.  Hold the keys down for several seconds and then click ok.  I tested it on the XP machine and it worked.  I tested it on the Windows 7 machine and it worked.  Eureka!

Cheers!
