Hi There!
Before I bought my NuLOOQ Navigator I asked the support team about the possibilities of using the device to change very special brush properties in Photoshop CS2 (like angle, scattering, roundness, and so on). They kindly and quickly (Logitech's support has been really great so far, thanks!) pointed me to the dynamic value control features in the manual. Unfortunately I didn't realize, that it was the Mac version of the manual, and since there are Windows drivers, I could not imagine, that these features might not exist in the WinXP version of the driver. But I just can't get that feature to work. I'm not able to emulate pen pressure or tilt of my Wacom Tablet. Is that a Mac-only feature? I would be very disappointed then, because that was my main reason to buy the product.
I searched and read here and there and did not find an answer to my question, so I post here, hoping that you can help me.
From what I've read, it seams that you can only emulate pen pressure and two separate tilt directions. I have a feature request here. Please also include the "stylus wheel" parameter that can normally only be accessed by an Wacon Intuos Airbrush pen. The NuLooq Navigator has immense potential to became a very valuable additional tool for everyone who uses Photoshop to paint pictures or does photo-manipulation. All of the people I'm thinking of use a Wacom pen tablet, but almost no one uses the Wacom Airbrush Pen or the Wacom Artmarker. Controlling pressure and tilt at once with the pen in your right Hand, while drawing, works allright. But additionally turning a wheel with your right hand is getting too complex. If we had the possibility to map another parameter (that is fed to Photoshop via the seldom used "stylus wheel" or "pen rotation" feature of a Wacom tablet) to the NuLOOQ which is held in the other Hand, it would be way easier and controllable. I'm shure it would open up whole new worlds of possibilities for many people including me.
Also I think it would be great, if there was the possibility to use the navring for the static AND dynamic control feature. I have the feeling that software-wise the generally great product is lacking way behind it's possibilities. I will give a short example of a configuration I could imagine to use. Just a quick idea that shows how some new features could be used.
Configuration A:
Navring:
-push/pull: static value control: change brush size
-left/right: dynamic value control: use brush rotation parameter
-turn/twist: dynamic value control: use stylus wheel parameter
Tooltuner:
-dialing motion: static feature control: change hardness
Triggerpoints:
-switch between configuration A and B
-undo
-redo
-alt key
-shift
Configuration B:
Navring:
-push/pull: standard scroll settings (I like them a lot but don't need permanent access to them)
-left/right: standard scroll settings
-turn/twist: hotkeys for zooming
Tooltuner:
-dialing motion: mouse wheel
Triggerpoints:
-switch between configuration A and B
-undo
-redo
-keystroke: b
-keystroke: e
Of Course I understand that would mean a lot of redesigning for driver menu elements, possibly some work on the way configurations are handled, work for integrating the other Wacom tablet properties and so on. But I at least hope that these tasks are not too difficult, because it all bases on basics that already have been laid out.
I really hope that my comment will be heard where it can be taken care of. From what I have read so far, you all seem to actually care about user requests (which I'm really thankfully for and what I really value).
Thanks a lot and best regards,
Martin
