Re: Can't install G15 software on Win7 RC1

For 3.02, use compatability mode Vista sp1. Then right click on the setup file and select "Run as administrator" with UAC off.

Uniextract won't extract 3.02.

Everything works fine in Win7. Only OS that I use now.

Re: Can't install G15 software on Win7 RC1

I used Uniextract on lgps302_x64 because it did not install on my windows 7RC1.  It didn't matter which compatibility mode I chose it kept giving me the OS is not compatible.

My Windows 7RC Build 7100 is windows version 6.1.7100 and the stup.ini limits the version range from 5.1.0 to 6.1.0 making my build out of the range and thus getting the error that my OS is not compatible.  All that was needed was to change that range of that version check and everything worked fine.

Windows 7 is all I am using at the moment and prior to my reformat I did not have problems with installing this on beta or my first installation of Windows 7.  This time something changed, obviously, and I needed to use your uniextract program to get to the root of the problem.  It may be that if you install this on Windows 7 before doing one of the updates that everything works, maybe one of the updates causes this problem as I did perform all the Windows updates prior to trying to install this software this time.

You can disable the requirement of signed drivers in 64bit OS's. Then it would work.

Re: Can't install G15 software on Win7 RC1

[ Edited ]

I've managed to get the installer to run. But regardless of anything I do, the G15 won't type at all. The only keys that work are the macro keys, the mute key and the keys around the LCD screen.

The USB hub works as I have my G9 plugged into the G15 and it's working just fine.

I can control Windows Media Player through the keys around the LCD screen as well, it even updates song titles, etc. The M1, M2, M3, and MR keys change and actually light up inside the Profiler software.

But still NONE of the other keys work. Function keys, Windows Key, Caps Lock, etc, in fact the Caps Lock and Num Lock won't change the indicator in the upper right corner. However before windows finishes booting up, I was able to hit num lock and it turned the indicator on and off. But as soon as I could see the mouse cursor, the nun lock indicator was stuck on and the key became unresponsive.

Has this happened to anyone else in RC1 7100?

Thanks for any help in advance!

Re: Can't install G15 software on Win7 RC1

I have the 64 bit installed, and was using the 64 bit driver pack.

I have already tried to uninstall the keyboard and try again using compatibility mode vista SP1, still nothing. I have also uninstalled the standard keyboard to have Windows 7 automatically install it back, still won't work.

I have gotten the installer to run and everything fine, but when I actually go to install the driver it basically flashes over the #3 install step, says it was installed correctly but no folder is created, I can't get the driver to work even after a restart, and I get that stupid little popup that says, this program might not have installed correctly. I installed it as an admin, and using compatibility for Vista SP1.
