Re: Ergonomically Designed Gaming Keyboard

There are a few script made with AutoIt and AutoHotkey that actually created a macro interface very similar to what Logitech has for it's LGS.  I'll look for it in a bit and give you a link.  I realize going directly to the script languages are tough, but there are people who have thought of those like yourself.

I did mention before that an ergonomic keyboard could work if it was geared towards productivity types.  I can see how macros would help for that while still wanting an ergonomic keyboard.  In that sense, the product could have a bigger following.

Here is a link to a macro recorder created with AutoIt, but with an interface that is easy to use.

"I did mention before that an ergonomic keyboard could work if it was geared towards productivity types." I like where your going with this, do you have an example?

Also, the link with the macro recording, i think may be able to work, as long as the keyboard would have "extra" keys to allow for macro assignment. Gaming keyboards have "extra" keys for such purpose, I honestly can't speak for "productivity type" keyboards... It would be nice though, even in an office setting, it would be perfect for me...

I'd like to see what you have in mind as far as productivity based keyboards...

Re: Ergonomically Designed Gaming Keyboard

I don't have anything in mind specifically, only that I could see it useful for that.  I have no issues with normal keyboards.  I just recognize that people might have use for macro functionality with desktop applications and they may need ergonomic keyboards.  Although sometimes the need for ergonomic keyboards is partly self inflicted due to hitting keys to hard, in which case retraining yourself to type lighter can help.

Anyways, hopefully you can make good use of the above macro recorder.  You may be able to treat the num pad as your Gkeys, as most applications have no real use for them with the numlock off.

If you are referring to typing lighter to eliviate hurting your fingers, I would not consider that a work around, but rather a good health tip.  It's akin to not lifting with your back.

Good tip, I'll tuck it away in the back of my head, like the one momma used to say "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all"

I also using G13 gaming keypad for playing games. It is effective and compatible gaming keypad which provide best gaming experience than another gamingkeypad.

Re: Ergonomically Designed Gaming Keyboard

I too would love an ergonomic gaming keyboard. Take the current G510 or G110 and give it the wave design of other Logitech boards or a split design like the MS Elite boards and I'd be a happy camper. Bonus if they give it mechanical keys like Cherry MX Brown or Blues.

I've been using the ergo boards for quite some time and to use a standard keyboard for any length of time is uncomfortable now plus I end up miskeying far too often. Having a display screen and the row or double row of macro keys on the left would be ideal. My current desk setup is not going to allow for the addition of something like a G13.

And I will be looking into Logitech's new mmo mouse the G600 but, even if that's a good fit for my right hand, it does nothing to fill the void in the market that is the lack of an ergo-gaming keyboard.

Re: Ergonomically Designed Gaming Keyboard

I myself do have the logitech g13 aswell as the Logitech Comfort Desktop Keyboard with the split in the middle, very simmular to the microsoft keyboard that was linked above. As a adittion to this i also use the Logitech G700 mouse.

I am very sattisfied with my Logitech Comfort Desktop Keyboard as my hand lands smothly on the keyboard, and i could game for hours without getting any sort of pain in my hands. But i wish they would make a gaming version of this keyboard and hopefully with kable. The Logitech G13 takes up to much space with my current setup in my gaming setup.

If logitech were to make such a gaming keyboard i wish they would make it simmular to the Logtiech G15 first generation, with the macro buttons on the left side, and screen at the top. and with the form of the logitech comfort desktop.

Can anyone answer why they stopped producing the comfort desktop?
