G110 too dark...can we increase the led output?

I just swapped my G15 for a G110 and Im finding it difficult to get used to it. The keys seems smaller and darker but the worst part is the back lighting is too dim. Im in a normally lit room and it just has a hint of color to it. I've tried many colors and still can barely see it.

Is there a way to increase the light output? I thought my G15 was bad but this is a brand new keyboard. It should positively glow with light. Why do keyboard makers make them so dim?

I swear my old G15 was brighter. Why is it everyone makes such dim and unseeable light up keyboards?

Hi Daehawktitan,

The brightness levels on the G110 keyboard are at a default level and are unable to be adjusted.

Yes I noticed that. Just venting. I want to take it apart and stick a turbo in it. Honestly I have no idea how i could increase the amount of glow. sure would be nice though. I doubt I'd ever buy another keyboard for the lighting unless I could see if in person beforehand.

j_briggs,

Please, i urge you to pass along to your design team, that the whole point of a backlit keyboard is that it needs to be VISIBLE under a VARIETY of lighting conditions, up to and including "normal" office-level lighting. So, please, make future backlit keyboards MUCH brighter, regardless of which color combination is used.

Re: G110 too dark...can we increase the led output?

I agree that backlit keyboards need to be bright. it's the whole point of buying one.

Mine may have had a problem too though. It was dim and hard to turn on. 2 days ago it started going off on it's own and flashing the whole time Im typing. Its doing it now. Support says theres a short in it and are sending me a replacement. They had me take pics of my emails where I bought it and where they shipped it and send them. Then they will send me a new one and a shipping lable to send my old one back when I get the new one. So we shall see if that one is as dim or if the shorting wires had anything to do with it.

Is everyone's dim though?

I purposefully "dim" my G110.

Contrary to what has been said, there is brightness adjustment abilities with the G110, but not by a brightness button.  You instead choose to create a custom color.  The colors at the top of the rainbow are brighter than those towards the bottom.

I personally find that the brightest red seems brighter to me than the bright blues.

I can understand why people facepalm this response.  The point of this conversation is customer dissatisfaction over the lacking ability to turn the brightness UP.  This has nothing to do with adjusting brightness below the offered levels.  Most everyone who buys a logitech keyboard and ends up on this forum to voice their opinion fully understand how they can adjust their colors to either the maximum or minimum levels of brightness, it's just that the maximum level is much too dim for many of us.

If anyone has a link to any custom modifications that will allow for us to increase the brightness, please post them.  I will do whatever it takes, including voiding my warranty in order to get more brightness.  Thank you.

The point of my post was you can adjust the brightness through color adjustments.  I explained how I used it to dim the color, how to make it brighter and how reds seem to be brighter than blues.  I didn't realize it was that difficult to understand.
