I wasn't sure how to word the subject, so allow me to explain in more detail.
I recently purchased a G13 Gameboard from NewEgg.com and it arrived. Everything seems to be in order: there is only one thing that I'm unsure about.
I'm under the impression that the keys are using rubber dome switches, not mechanical. In the case of a rubber dome switch keyboard, the key generally has to be depressed all the way to the bottom for it to activate. I understood this when I purchased the product.
When I press the G4 key, there is a certain 'deadzone' where I can easy stop after the initial resistance of the key. It does not take much more pressure to make contact to the switch, but it's bugging me because I can't make the other keys behave like this easily. The pressure required to make the other keys get past the resistance is enough to make the key move all the way down into contact. It is more difficult to make other keys hover in this 'dead zone' than it is my G4 key.
The issue is minor in the grand scheme of things, but I wanted to ask the community if anyone else has experienced this or if it's only my problem. I like to make sure all of my new purchases work correctly before I settle down and get comfortable with it. Obviously I'd like to get an exchange if this is an isolated case.
Thanks for taking the time to read my post. I hope I adequately described everything.
