G-Series Gaming Keyboards

Hello,

The subject shows how hard this is to describe, but I am hoping someone out there has experienced/fixed this issue on the G13 Gamepad. I have used my G13 for close to a year now (purchased shortly after release) and never had a problem until about a week ago. The problem is that the Gamepad is trying to activate keys/binds without me pressing ANY of the keys myself.

I.E:

In Dead Space 2, I haven't used the G13 yet being more familiar with the keyboard/mouse setup, but while I am walking around, it will randomly start activating my weapon selection menu and change my weapons, without me even touching the Gamepad.

In Rift, I use the Gamepad, but i will be standing still waiting for the tank to pull and suddenly my character will target the closest enemy and slap them with a spell (had to disable Smart Targetting because of this), or while crafting a bunch of items (being idle throughout since you can't do anything) an error message comes up randomly, "you must have a target selected" interrupting the crafting, like it is trying to heal a friendly/kill an enemy using whatever binds i have on the profile.

Also, I have "Ctrl" built into a couple binds that drop me to my desktop/start menu when i press "Esc" to close a window in game, basically like it is holding "Ctrl" while im in the game. I have installed the latest 8.0.127.0 patch for G-series, but that did not fix this issue. Any suggestions?

If you unplug the G13, does the problem stop? What mouse/keyboard are you using? Which key(s) on the G13 are the actions it does randomly bound to?

When the G13 is unplugged, then everything works fine. Which is what I have been doing until needed for certain games.

I am using a Logitech Mx518 mouse and a standard Digital Innovations Keyboard. I used a G11 keyboard until I bought the G13. The G11 is overkill/too large, so i swapped the keyboards. Been using this setup since purchasing the G13.

Missed the key question...I havent isolated all of them, but I know for sure the G15 key is often the prime culprit, possibly the G2 key. I believe there are 1-2 others as well, but without the ability actually going off, i can't tell for sure. (typically just get the "You must have a target" or "You can't do that here" error messages that don't explan much.) The G15 I've recognized from Rift from an ability being used and G2 from Dead Space for the weapon selection error.

 Have you tried installing the GamePanel Software (Legacy) software? Did the Digital Innovations Keyboard require software to be installed ?

I had been on the original software until about 5 days after this started. I tried installing the new updates to fix the problem. The Keyboard was plug n' play with no software disc. Windows installed this and I have been using this keyboard since I purchased/installed the G13 initially.

for the purposes of troubleshooting operational problems, v3.06 (the "legacy" version) is probably the best version to use.  it's very reliable and relatively bug-free.  I'm still using it myself for my own G13, even though there have been 2 new releases (v7.00 and v8.00) since then.

Would it make a difference though that the problems started while using the legacy version? I only switched to the newest to try and fix this problem.
