I bought the g13 to use with WoW and I really liked it... until I tried logging into vent the first time after I installed it. All of a sudden my usb headsets (I have two - I tried the second when I encountered problems with the first) were totally unusable. I checked and the sound coming out of the regular speakers is just fine, so I think it isn't a sound card issue. I have a good Plantronics GameCom Pro1 and it is now unusable. The headset doesn't come with drivers, so I followed some directions on the Plantronics website of resetting the drivers manually be deleting and reinstalling them. This worked beautifully - until plugged the G13 back in and instantly I had the same problem. I have been on hold trying to get to support for over 20 minutes as I write this. I would like to use the g13 - I think it is a great product, but if it interferes with vent then I can't use it. Anyone else have this problem? (OS: WinXP)

Any thing been done about this, i have the same problem, G13 connected to the extended USB port on an Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe MB, plantronics USB heaset connected to the standard USB port. Sound from the plantronics DSP 300 headest is borked completly, to fast and lots of static. Reboot required with the G13 disconnected to fix. This makes the G13 completely unusable for me. Money down the drain. ![]()

Make sure you have "Hi-Speed" USB enabled. Put them on separate controllers if possible. It's bandwidth contention.

I assume by high speed you mean USB2 enabled in the bios which it is. I guess USB ports 5, 6, 7 & 8 are on a separate controller from ports 1,2,3 & 4. Bad news is ports 5,6,7 & 8 no longer work since connecting the G13 to 7/8. Fortunatly 9 & 10 are still working or i would no longer be able to use my printer without disconnecting something else. Obviously i will not be connecting the G13 to any other USB port.
I am a full time carer as such my income is very limited, playing games and socialising on the internet is one of my few pleasures as i don't get to go out much. I carfully consider expenditure on items such as this to enhance my gaming experience, now it seems i have wasted what is to me a large amount of money on a nice looking, good quality, paper weight and damaged my computer into the bargain.
My advice to would be purchasers is don't touch it if you don't have an external, powered USB hub or you risk damaging your computer, also if your are using a USB headset it may not function with this device.

it's extremely uncommon for any usb device to physically damage a usb port. have you tried powering your computer off and on again (may require actually unplugging your computer if your usb ports stay powered on even when the computer is "off")? in the past, this has always fixed the problem of 'dead' usb ports for me (not that I've ever had that problem with my G13 or my current computer).
I do not work for Logitech. I'm just a user.

I think it would be impossible for the G13 to damage any USB port, since it's not powered. It can only use whatever power the USB port provides it with, and the port must be able to accept the same current it delivers.
