G-Series Gaming Keyboards

Hey i got my hands on my brothers g13 since he quit playing games for a while now and since i play WoW i decided to get to play with it since i have read some great reviews but i have a minor issue. I have created some macro's keybinded on G buttons for some abilities that werent provided from g13 for my druid, but when i try to use those abilities while walking i am unable to and my character just stop when i try to press the assigned button and i would very much like to be able to press simuntaneously those buttons, i searched the web but i found no answer to this so i hoped i could be helped here.

Any ideas? ty for reading.

you need to provide more details.  which G-keys are you using for walking, and what are the bindings on those G-keys?  what are the contents of the macros that are making you stop?

Well the G buttons i am using to move in game are on the G4-10-11-12 and the pivoting thumb thingie for the strafe's and the macros i am using would be like /use Wild Mushroom {enter} or /cast Wild Mushroom {enter} and they would be on G13 or G19, i have tried using pre-assigned buttons for the abilities by moving them on my interface and it works but still manualy creating the macro in g13 i havent had any sucess

if you have G4-G10-G11-G12 bound to W-A-S-D then that's why your macros are interrupting movement.  you can't type "Wild Mushroom" because you can't press W if it's already held down.  try to do this on the keyboard (not using a G13 macro) and you'll see the problem.  holding down W makes it impossible to enter a W into the chat box.

I'd suggest you assign hotkeys to your spells in game, so you don't have to type out your actions.  It's faster and more effecient.

However, in many if not most MMO's, you can usually use the arrow keys while typing, so you should assign your movement keys to the arrow keys rather than aswd.

So if i wanna use an ability on a game which i have placed on a multiaction bar as in wow, if i dont have it bound on the actual keyboard i wont be able to make a macro or an original binding by any means on g13? i just wanna be able to use my abilities on the multi action bar but w/o having assigned them to the keyboard and then to the g13.

the G13 appears as a keyboard and mouse to games and applications, via the "Logitech Gaming Virtual Keyboard" and "Logitech Gaming Virtual Mouse" devices.  that's how games that are programmed to only accept keyboard and mouse input work with the G13.  your game gets keyboard and mouse input from those virtual devices, and those virtual devices are told to emit "fake" keyboard and mouse events by the Logitech software (LGS or LGPS, depending on what version you're using) based on which G-keys you press, and how they're configured.

so yes, anything you want to do on the G13 must first be doable using a keyboard or mouse.  the key benefits of the G13 are that you can take actions that require multiple keys and bind them to a single G-key, and you can rearrange the layout of the keys to suit your preferences.  and the thumbstick and LCD, of course.

kgober is right.

That said, I have given you 2 solutions to your problem:

1) bind your movement keys to use up arrow, down arrow, right arrow and left arrow.  Those remain functional when in typing mode within WoW (or they used to at least).  WSAD will no work as directional keys in typing mode.

2) Create hotkeys in game assigned to single keypresses.  These do not require you to enter typing mode.  Assign the hotkeys to G keys so you can easily press them.

I personally would recommend both.  This allows you to run when typing to a friend, and also be more functional.  You can use a UI mod so that you can even hide the hotkeys on the screen.
