G15 and Windows 7 Event log issue

Hi all

I have recently installed Windows 7 RC 64bit and since installing the G15 keyboard software i always get 2 event logs on startup .

If i remove the software then the issue is gone .

The 2 logs are basically the same , it says -

The driver\Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device Root\SIDESHOW\0000.

And the other says -

The driver\Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device Root\SIDESHOW\0001.

If you go into the detail tab you get this -

- System
    - Provider
      [ Name] Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-PnP       [ Guid] {9C205A39-1250-487D-ABD7-E831C6290539}
      EventID 219       Version 0       Level 3       Task 212       Opcode 0       Keywords 0x8000000000000000     - TimeCreated
      [ SystemTime] 2009-07-26T18:34:20.975609600Z
      EventRecordID 8299       Correlation     - Execution
      [ ProcessID] 4       [ ThreadID] 48
Channel System       Computer Karl-BigPC     - Security
      [ UserID] S-1-5-18
- EventData
    DriverNameLength 18     DriverName Root\SIDESHOW\0000     Status 3221226341     FailureNameLength 14     FailureName \Driver\WUDFRd     Version 0

This happens on every boot , dont seems to have any issues with the keyboard that i can see but would be nice to get rid of the event log issues .

Any help most appreciated

Karl

Re: G15 and Windows 7 Event log issue

to fix this go into the LCD manager for the G15 and UNCHECK left and right boxes for the 2 sideshow apps (mono and QVGA).  Win 7 is incompatible with those apps.

Re: G15 and Windows 7 Event log issue

Hi have already tried that but still get the event logs .....unticked both of them ...and both sides so there are no ticks against them.

maybe this will be sorted when windows 7 eventually comes out and logitech make the proper drivers for it ..

Thanks

Re: G15 and Windows 7 Event log issue

next try going into control panel > sideshow (if there is one) in that pannel (in vista at least) you can Uninstall the device all together. it can also be femoved from device manager. try getting rid of QVGA first since you dont have a color screen

[ Edited ]

karlos - in the side show contol panel im not talking about "unchecking" the apps..    Im talking about REMOVING the device.

here this picture will help explain where to click. its not exactly obvious. give this a try.
