G15 keys intermittently stop working

Before you tell me to clean my keyboard, I have TWO G15s and they both behave the same way:

Occasionally, anywhere in Windows 7, the spacebar and "N" keys (and sometimes other keys) will just stop working for about 10-15 seconds, then start working again.  It used to be very rare, but now it happens about every 30 seconds.  It doesn't matter what app I have open or if I'm in a game. I've tried several USB ports on my computer, and my current replacement keyboard is working 100% fine, so it's not a USB issue.

Ideas?

Re: G15 keys intermittently stop working

So I took the keyboard to work today and it does the same thing on a machine there that's currently running a G110 keyboard without any problems at all.

Since I have two G15's that are doing the same thing (one is ~7 years old, another ~4 years old), I find it extremely hard to believe its a problem with the keyboard itself and that they both "went bad" within the last 7 days.

Yeah, but weird things happen.

Any lighning storms recently? Failing PSU? Power spike or brown outs? The keyboards could have been more susceptible to that or that is what just happened to be hit. If in the next few months nothing else acts weird then the PC might be O.K.

There's all kinds of theorical electical damage possibilities.

Or they really did just both fail at the same time.

Did you try both with and without the logitech software?

Check  for newer drivers?

Try the Windows supplied drivers?

Did you stomp or kick them, throw them out the window? J/K ... but did you? lol   (don't answer that) :smileyhappy:

Re: G15 keys intermittently stop working

The g15 im trying to use atm (the one with the space bar and N key screwing up), has been sitting unplugged for months. It was only once my original G15 started misbehaving that I pulled it out and started using it, only to find out that it too is screwing up.  It doesn't make any sense.

I took one of them to work today and tried it on a windows xp machine that has never seen a logitech keyboard or mouse before in its life and the keyboard is also malfunctioning on that machine too.

I suspect that the logitech software has done something to them, internally, regarding its configuration that is screwing it up.
