G-Series Gaming Keyboards

First off, I've had this keyboard forever, so there's no valid warranty to void by taking it apart. No worries there. o.<d

I've seen a few threads about the paint chipping off the keys, which is what's happening to my baby, but also replies that Logitech does not offer sets of replacement keys. That's a shame, because I've got some spare dollars that I'd gladly send them for a bag full of what's probably the least expensive and most easily shippable components in the device. One thread I came across that was marked as resolved by a mod referenced a sticky that no longer seems to exist.

Would anyone happen to know if there's a 3rd-party supplier where I get compatible keys that let the light through?

As for the cleaning, compressed air just isn't getting all the collected years of grossness out from between, or under the keys. [so much stray beard hairs >_<] Do you guys have any tips for pulling off the keys without damaging them or thekeyboard?

carefully pry them up ..  CAREFULLY!!!  there are metal spring clips in the keys that sit in plastic clips on the board

I had the same problem of years of filth builing up under my keys that made compressed air worthless. One night while I was bored I took a butter knife and popped all the keys off. I started on the left hand Ctrl key and worked along the bottom row to the right and then started over from the next row. I threw all the keys into a bowl of warm soapy water and took a damp cloth and cleaned the board. It was very easy and none of my keys were scratched or cracked when I was done.

There are some keys that have a wire under them. I think they were the Spacebar, Enter, Ctrl's. Caps, Backspace, number pad's +, Enter, and Insert. They may be more that I forgot. But it was no problem to put them back together. I think the whole process took just under an hour and my keyboard looked just like new when I was done. Other than the silver under the spacebar wearing off.

I don't know of any place that sells replacement keys but that would be nice. Good luck.
