This is an odd assertion... it's not Logitech's fault?!? I just received an email that I must have a defective unit and asked me to RMA it back to Logitech...

I have an ASUS P6T x58 Motherboard (Intel i7 920)... I don't seem to have the same problem with ANY other USB keyboard...

Should I RMA this thing or not?

I agree with some of the other comments... I am quickly loosing faith in Logitech.

there is not always great communication between the first level support teams and higher level guys that can actually do testing, etc.

I understand what you are saying, but I believe that with an overclocked i7 920 running at 4GHz when under full load, whether it's something as simple as a game of WoW or even GTAIV, is enough to cause these issues. I seem to replicate this issue on almost a daily basis now. I've been checking the Asus website for firmware updates for my P6T on a weekly basis. There has been a few new BIOS updates, but nothing that has eliminated this issue.

I have also taken note of the radical overclocks comment. I have returned the CPU back to stock speeds, but still, this issue arises again.

I have read your post thoroughly, and whilst I am not trying to start an argument over this, I'm definitely frustrated with this keyboard.

I am unable to replicate this issue with any USB keyboard on my set up. This is using the same hardware, same USB port, everything the same, except for the keyboard. The only differences there is the G15, G19, or the very old USB Microsoft keyboard I had.

The only other thing I can think of, is that I have misunderstood your post, and you mean that... Once the G19 is showing these issues (key ghosting etc) THEN you plug in an additional USB keyboard, regardless of the make, model, etc, the additional keyboard you connect will show the same issues. Is that what you're trying to say?

Apart from all of that, as a loyal customer, as many others, we shouldn't have to put up with these issues on high end equipment. We spent a large sum of money on these i7 builds and what-not, and want a keyboard to compliment the build at the same time (G19).

If the USB1.1 cards that were mentioned in the previous thread were easily available (Australia here), I would gladly pick one of the cards up, just to get the keyboard working correctly.

On a side note, the G13 (the gameboard, I think that's the model, it has a set of macro keys by itself), does that show these same issues when connected to a x58 system on a USB2.0 hub?

Goldfire - I know you're not trying to pick something, but this whole issue is something that I personally wish was actually a fault with the G19. If it was, then I would be the first in line to (and to not mince words) halt production and fix it. 

The G15 is, on a hardware level, a USB 1.1 unpowered hub with the rest of the keyboard wired in.

The G19 in, on a hardware level, a USB 2.0 powered hub with the rest of the keyboard wired in.

To replicate the effects with any USB keyboard, a USB 2.0 hub needs to be placed between the G15, which is a USB 1.1 device, and your computer. This would then replicate the hardware layout of the G19. Of course, from there, one would have to saturate the bus; preferrably by running a game in SLI mode and playing. The G19 does utilize the bus heavily to communicate with the screen, which is why the G19 seems to bring this issue out of the woodwork more than other devices.

It's also my personal theory that this issue has been around a lot longer than what we've seen with the G19, because troubleshooting step #1 on USB issues is to remove the hub. So, if a user had a typical keyboard in a USB 2.0 hub on one of these systems and started and contacted someone at just about any support team, the first step would be to remove the hub, and that might have fixed the issue. Due to the G19's unique hardware, well, simply unplugging the hub isn't an option (or else we'd lose the screen; USB 1.1's 12Mbps isn't capable of the data we wanted to push). Also, USB 2.0 integration has been a top 5 request since the original G-15 was made.

Just wanted to fire my own experience in here, I'm an asus p6t owner, 4.0ghz oc, with 2*gtx 275's in sli, and I am happy to confirm that I did have the above issues, however a combination of 2 things have completely eliminated this problem on my rig at least, first off I disabled USB legacy control, next I added a pair of USB ports off of 1 of the mobo's internal headers, and have the g19 exclusively on that, since I have done this not a single problem.

Just managed to fix my keyboard.

My config is the following:

ASUS P7P55D-E Deluxe ( Intel® P55 - Socket 1156 )

INTEL Quad Core I7-860 2.8GHz (overclocked to 4.01GHz)

DDR3 4GB [2x2GB] DDR2000 (PC3-16000) - CORSAIR Dominator GT XMS3 [CMG4GX3M2A2000C8]

SAPPHIRE HD5870 1GB GDDR5 PCIE ( Radeon HD5870 1024MB 2xDVI HDMI)

SSD Drive 60 GB 2.5" SATA OCZ Agility Series SATA II 2.5" SSD (X2 in raid 0)

Running on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits.

Following your advise I-ve disabled EHCI Handoff in the BIOS ans installed a 'Y' USB cable. With 2 USB ports feeding my G19 the issue was solved.

Hello, I just want to share my exp with this G19,

I'm running currently on Win 7 Ultimate 64 bits on a GA-EX58-DS4 (rev. 1.0) with latest bios F11 and I7 920.

My first issue is with the sound control keys.

First time when I plug my G19 on january this year, all my keys were working

but after a few days i see that all my sound control keys (play, pause, rowel for volume, next track, previous track) were not responding anymore. When I push those keys they doesn't do anything on my media player (exept showing the playing song if player already launched with logitech media display on the screen of the G19) . I'm using Aimp2 and also Winamp (hotkey activated in winamp prefs).

also when I reboot windows, some soft for the LCD screen doesn't come up after the loading profile (like RSS reader, pictures viewer etc), for fixing it i have to uninstall and reinstall the GPS, so I give up.

I have also disabled Legacy USB support in the BIOS but it didn't change anything. And I don't find EHCI handoff in my BIOS.

Having a dual boot with win 7 Pro 64 bits, I have tested my G19, and my media key are working fine with the same BIOS parameters and same USB port but for how long ? i'm wondering regarding my exp on my other win 7 64bits.

I have tested also my G19 with a Windows vista Pro 32 bits and no issues with it.

I just have another Mx518 mouse pluged on my mobo on the same time.

In my opinion my G19 work correctly no hardware default but maybe it is a driver issue with win 7 64 bit ?

The only way to get the G19 working correctly again seems to start from a fresh new win 7 installation and cross fingers...
