G-Series Gaming Keyboards

Ok, this is way funny.... i was playing starcraft, yeah that old, and now my g19 is laggin, again... man i cant even play crappy old video games ... *sigh* im on Windows 7 Ultimate x64 RTM  (clean install) now since this Saturday and im facing the same problem as i was with Vista Ultimate x64 with this keyboard ....

However i found something odd, in the last few weeks with vista i couldnt play Devil May Cry 4, because its more like a beat-em-up mixed with puzzle game, so when i had to fight and do combos the keyboard itself lagged real fast (about 3 to 5 mins after started playing). I decided to enter into "System Configuration" and i deselected the option where it says "Load StartUp Items" so everytime i turned on my PC no Logitech Program was launched, and then one of those days i was playing Devil May Cry 4 again, so after like 1 or 2 hours of playing NO LAG OR BUFFER OVER RUN WAS PRESENT AT ALL  unlike before, then i exited the game and kept on the internet n messenger. After a while (maybe 1 hour later or more) i decided to launch the LCD Manager and the G-Series Profiler so i could get rid of the Logitech white screen on my g19 and voila! lag was present with no game on, and i mean really really bad lag, i couldnt even type at all, even trying reconnecting twice the keyboard didnt worked, i had to reboot. so it maked me wonder, that maybe its not the keyboard but the program when it communicates with the g19.

So maybe if u guys can try this disabling the startup LCD Manager and the G-Series Profiler maybe u wont lag and be able to use this xpensive keyboard. hope u ppl can try this n report back with ur findings.

 I have my problem even without any g19 drivers installed like i've posted earlier "I experienced same behaviour with the G19 on my laptop (windows xp) with no G19 drivers installed."

In my use the G19 works pretty well except that when pressing a key rapidly it misses strokes or thinks the key is constantly held down.

I have not experienced any delay with the keys, but I dont play WOW or use SLI.

I'm thinking about buying a G19 for use with my newer iMac (for Wow and other stuff) and possibly a new PC when I buy one in the next several months.

Can anyone confirm the G19 works fine with Macs (i.e. in all your frustration of researching this issue around the internet, you haven't seen the Mac mentioned as having issues with the G19)?

Also, are there any recent Window OS with recent accompanying hardware (along the lines of a lower high-end gaming rig) that DO work with the G19?

Finally, does the G13 game pad have any of these issues?

Hmm, should I just go with the G15 for the keyboard?

The G13 doesnt suffers from any lag at all, even when the G19 keyboard has lag.

and also i noticed that the G-keys from the G19 also are inmune to monster lag aswell... just the normal keys are the problem

Because   I   didn't   see   anything   in   these   forums   about   the   problem   on   the   Mac.

Others, in their frustration with this problem and their looking for info and/or solutions on the internet, may have come across posts/threads on other sites that deal with this on the Mac as well.  Or they may have, for sheets-n-giggles, tested their G19 on the Mac that they have in the other room or whatever.  It is really not that far fetched.

It would be better to hear from someone that says "hey, it doesn't work on my Windows gaming rig but it works just fine on my Mac" than to not hear anything at all.

I'm sooo sorry you had to read my, in your mind, non-pertinent post.  Have fun reading this one.

Hi Logitech,

How are we doing on this issue? Windows 7 has been RTM for a while now, and I would like to know if I should bring my keyboard back to the store or not? I like the system, with the screen and software and everything, but correct handling of rapid key presses are the basics. They should just work.

My patience has run out.

I have already warned several people about the issue and left remarks on several popular UK websites:ie..

Play.com (largest UK entertainment site)

The G19 Gaming Keyboard isn't working as advertised. I have waited long enough for a fix. More than a reasonable time. Any longer & I will lose all faith in Logitech's Customer Service.

I have used the keyboard a total of 2 hours. It is boxed and still in it's original cellophane.

I'd like a full refund please. (Can I contact Customer services in the UK and arrange this?)

Then I may go out and buy a new G15...
