G510 Applets

[ Edited ]

Today after doing a audio driver update to 8.20.74 all my applets on the G510 keyboard stopped working. I went into the folder and clicked each one and....nothing. I went so far as to completely uninstall / reinstall the keyboard and still nothing. I even did a restore to last week and that didnt do it.  Whats the cure for this. I used the applets alot and would like them back.

Re: G510 Applets

fyi, the Logitech software runs the G-keys and M-keys, controls the backlighting, and runs the LCD.  it doesn't do anything for the regular keyboard keys, the media keys or the headset interface -- all of those are handled by default Windows drivers.

if manually running the applets doesn't put  them back, make sure the LCD software is actually running (not just installed).  depending on how you did the install/uninstall/reinstall steps, you may need to repeat them with reboots between each step.

Re: G510 Applets

Not talking about regular keys, media keys or headset.  All I did was update the audio driver to the 8.20.74 and all the applets on the keyboard LCD little screen disappeared, such as the LCDClock, LCDCountdown, LCDMedia, etc.

How do I check to make sure the LCD is running?  Right now all it shows onscreen is G510.

Re: G510 Applets

what audio driver?  the G510 doesn't have audio drivers.  the only drivers it has are for the G-keys, M-keys, backlighting and the LCD.

if the LCD is displaying just "G510" that means the software isn't running, or it's not seeing the keyboard.  try installing it again.

Ok lets clarify something. This is how it all started. Teamspeak 3 just had a update, so I updated mine.  I use a Logitech G35 headset and the sound stopped working right after the update. Others could hear me but I couldnt hear a thing. So I did a google and found others had same problem and that there was a update as well. I did the update (8.20.74) and as soon as I did it the applets on my G510 keyboard stopped working.

I have no idea why an driver update would affect my keyboard but it did.  I tried doing a roll back on the driver but it wouldnt let me.

I also have a post in the Headset section on Logitech forums called "TS3 Update and G35"

BTW  I am now using a H530 headset and audio problems are solved.

ah.  when you kept referring to audio drivers I thought you meant the G510 headset jack.

I wonder if the G35 causes the same problem the G930 causes?  try unplugging and replugging the keyboard, both with and without your headset plugged in.

I remember seeing posts about compatibility issues when having a G930 and another G-series devices both plugged in at the same time.

if you never use the G-keys, another option is to install the "legacy" LGPS software and use the old LCD Manager to run the LCD.  it's old, but it still supports the current 3.x LCD API that most LCD applets expect.
