I've got a new G510 keyboard, and I'm trying to get it to work with SWTOR. No luck yet.
Basically, all I want to do is bind the 18 G-keys to some keystroke (like Alt+A, or Ctrl+A, or Ctrl+Alt+A, etc). Then in the game, I bind those keystrokes to by quickslots. If I manually do the keystroke, it works fine. But if I press the G-key, it doesn't. It seems to send the unmodified letter (e.g., "A" instead of "Alt+A") - for example my character will turn left (as if I had pressed "A") instead of executing the skill in the quickslot.
A few of the bindings work, but most don't. Anyone have any idea what else I can try? Thanks!

If it's partially working, or working erratically, that is often a problem of how long the keys are pressed. I've found a lot of games, especially online games, they often poll and check if the key is down, rather than reading an event sent by Windows. In those cases, the rapid fire clicks often don't get read. To fix, try adding a delay between presses.

I have g510 Playing EGA all g1-18 work prefectly. Check your macros possibly. G510 works indepedantly of the game. All buttons work or non at all.

I think there are a few issues. I'm not using any fancy macros, just the simple Keystroke binding. That doesn't work in this game for some reason (it works fine in all my other games). I was able to use "QuickMacros" - defined using the MR key on the keyboard; those work.
Another problem is, SWTOR seems to intercept some of the keys - so, even though I can map G1 to Control-A, and Control-A to quickslot-1, when I press Control-A (or G1), it toggles "Ambience" rather than invoking whatever skill is in the quickslot. And there doesn't appear to be any way to unmap SWTOR's control-A. So, that's a problem with the game, not they keyboard. As are the others no doubt, but I'm hoping someone else here may have found a work-around. My best one so far is to use the MR key and QuickMacros.

I've noticed that the keyboard 'works' with swtor, but not perfectly. I'd say it's a combination of the keyboard and the game being at fault, especially the unconfigurable ambience shortcut. Still, if you bind wasd to g-keys and use ctrl a lot for secondary hotkeys instead of alt like they seem to assume is preferred, there are some really annoying bugs that can occur.
The worst one is probably using a g-key for movement (say G10 as 'a' for strafing left), then hitting ctrl to access one of your hotkeys. If you hit any other g-key while holding down G10 (a) for movement and release all the keys, it will act as though you're still holding down a and you end up stuck strafing left until you press G10 again. This only occurs when movement keys are bound to G-keys, the regular keys work fine. It would almost be easier to offer an option to switch alt and ctrl functionality, but any fix would be better than the way it is right now.

I really don't see why you are having all these issues. I am playing SWTOR using the g510 Without any issue.. if you didn't bring one up i wouldn't have even given it any thought. If you want to use your G Keys Bind your G Key to the key combination or single key you want using your Logitech Gaming Software. SWTOR cannot tell the diffrent between keyboards and GKEYS. There is no block. The only reason you cannot use them directly is because its not programmed in. If you want to use your Gkey for movement and strafe Example : g13 g16 g17 g18 Map WASD to those keys. If you want to use WASD For something else. then bind your movement to some other keys you arent using or cant reach . Example , . / ' then map those keys to your g keys.. it works just fine. if you need to do multi key then do multi key in your Logitech gaming software and map the multi key to your keybind in swtor and do the same for the corresponding g key. There is no issues with the keyboard and swtor.. Learn to use your devices no offense.

Try making your profile persistent. If it works, then it's likely that SWOTR changed the .exe name that runs while you play.
