Re: LGS 8.20 is now available for your G-Series Keyboard

Okay, that worked for the applets, but Skyrim is still a no-show.

When I manually reassociated it, launching Skyrim caused the LCD to recognise it for a second and show the Skyrim logo, then it just dropped back to the profile selector and sat there.

Re: LGS 8.20 is now available for your G-Series Keyboard

For people still using v 3.06 without issues, is there a reason to upgrade yet? Tried a version 8 before and it was buggy as hell. Is it stable enought to move to yet? Have they resolved the issues with using the G13 internal memory woth version 8 yet?

Will LGS support not-so-old-and-cheap gaming mouses like G500 and G700?

Right now - NO! But many gamers ask Logitech to add support of these mices+G9x... It would be very handy to control ur gaming devices with 1 utility!

I have been using v3.06 on my own machines, because that version has proven to be extremely reliable.  but this new version sounds like it may be worth upgrading to.  I'll be watching these forums for problem reports, and if things look good I may take the plunge.

If you are looking for information from Skyrim to appear on the LCD, it will require an update to Skyrim by the developer.  LCD support is implemented by the game developer, not by Logitech.

Sadly some of the bugs with the G930 headset are still there like the terrible bass distortion and some of the volume options resetting themselves when you turn the headset off then on again. Hoping the bug where my side buttons switched funtions on their own are gone, but time will have to tell.

Re: LGS 8.20 is now available for your G-Series Keyboard

What's interesting is that they added additional Lua support for gaming mice (G300 and G400).

  • "MOUSE_BUTTON_PRESSED" and "MOUSE_BUTTON_RELEASED" events
  • "SetMouseDPITable" function to apply your own custom table table for mouse DPI
  • "SetMouseDPITableIndex" function to apply an index to that DPI table

Which means some potentially neat customizations... :-)

Runex-

Bass distortion: Does this occur if your bass preamp settings are set to 0? Digital Preamps behave in interesting ways: If you overdrive a digital preamp, you get clipping of the sound altogether when you exceed the 100% maximum value of the digital channel. In most cases, audio is premixed to be pretty bass-heavy, so raising the preamp is not needed. Preamps should only be used when there is deficiency in the original audio levels.

Volume options resetting themselves: The only headset-specific G930 setting is the sidetone. The other values, as explained to me, are mirrored from the system, and if something changed them, it will be reflected in the g930's software. Some apps may change levels on their own, leading to the volume levels changing. Try disabling VOIP clients like Skype and Teamspeak and see what they do.
